Project Overview:
Oklahoma Aluminum, previously known as Project Thunder, is a landmark greenfield primary aluminum smelter development in Inola, Oklahoma, located at the Tulsa Port of Inola. The project is being developed by Emirates Global Aluminum (EGA), in joint venture with Century Aluminum, and represents the first new primary aluminum smelter to be built in the United States since 1980.
Oklahoma Aluminum is a cornerstone of EGA’s strategy to expand domestic U.S. aluminum production, reduce reliance on imports and establish a secure, competitive North American supply base. The facility is expected to more than double current U.S. primary aluminum output.
Project is being led by Capture Manager, Mark Read supported by our Houston based leadership, the Alumina & Aluminum Center of Excellence, and our New Delhi team—will provide deep technical expertise and execution capability in leading this study to successful completion.
