Marine Coastal Engineer

Role Overview

 

Design experience for marine and coastal engineering portions of projects in a global business unit.  Applies knowledge of marine engineering principles and practices in preparation of complex engineering analyses.  His/her duties will include developing conceptual drawings, performing analysis, reviewing consultants’ analyses, developing metocean design criteria, performing or validating metocean studies, designing coastal defense works, and assisting in construction cost estimates.

 

 Basic Qualifications

  • BS degree in Coastal Engineering, Civil Engineering or related discipline from an accredited University, Masters’ degree preferred
  • PE Registration, preferred
  • 5+ years design experience in marine facilities layout, coastal defense, and port facilities design
  • Strong analytical skills in static/dynamic mooring analysis, wave propagation study, and coastal processes.
  • Experience in channel planning and dredging design a plus.
  • Proficient with commercial software such as CEDAS, MIKE21, and Delft3D, or similar programs.
  • Familiarity with International codes and standards related to the marine and coastal design
  • Willing to travel
