Project Overview:

Driftwood LNG is a greenfield LNG export terminal located on an approximate 700-acre plot on the Calcasieu River due south of Sulphur, Louisiana. The project will be permitted for a nominal 26 MTPA LNG facility based on 20 liquefaction units of 1.3 MTPA each, divided into five LNG plants with four units in each LNG plant (each four unit LNG plant hereafter a “Plant”). The Project will also include three 235,000m³ full containment LNG tanks and three marine loading jetties that will support ships with capacity of up to 216,000m³. All plants will be built direct hire by Bechtel. Currently the project is under a Limited Notice to Proceed for site works that progresses until the end 2024. Client has announced they intend to release another LNTP by Q4 2024 for Long Lead Equipment and is expected to have a Full Notice to Proceed by Q1 2025. Once this occurs the Project is expected to then be fully released to complete the LNG export facility.

 

Job Summary:

In this role, you will support multiple projects by performing technical or commercial logistics work. You will be responsible for domestic and international multi-leg shipments with both internal and external entities, ensuring safe, timely, and economical delivery of goods to meet project requirements. Your work will help ensure project requirements are satisfied in accordance with policies and procedures.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Negotiates Logistics service provider agreements to maximize Bechtel’s commercial and technical interests.
  • Develops Logistics costs, job-hour requirements and reports for project or functional budget formation and management.
  • Prepares Logistics studies including site and service provider facility visits.
  • Oversees Logistics service provider performance to ensure services are carried out as contracted for and to ensure that project requirements are satisfied.
  • Conducts annual performance reviews and assists with development plans for assigned personnel.
  • Ensures safety requirements and measures are integrated into all Logistics activities. 

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bechtel and Supply Chain instructions, policies, and procedures. Bechtel Logistics procedures (Supply Chain College).
  • Logistics service provider pricing, services, operations and terms and conditions.
  • BGL corporate agreements. Logistics module as a Logistics cost and information management tool.
  • Bechtel procedures and instructions for compliance with governmental regulations affecting the movement of goods and technology.
  • Bechtel cargo insurance requirements and their integration into goods purchase orders and Logistics service provider agreements.
  • Industry packing, marking, and shipping requirements and their application to Bechtel purchased equipment.
  • Formalities and processes for importing and exporting globally. Trade and delivery terms and export credit agency requirements.
  • Full knowledge of cost and resource requirements for preparation and management of Logistics budgets.
  • Arranging for movement of over-dimensional, over-weight or hazardous materials/equipment via all modes of transportation.
  • Project Logistics execution plans and procedures. Supervisory methods and techniques to maximize team and individual performance and ensuring employee satisfaction. Bechtel e-Procurement tools and techniques. 
  • Knowledge of FTZ setup and execution.

  • Career-level position within field. Considered highly skilled and proficient in discipline.
  • A seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of area of specialization.
  • Capable of resolving a wide range of issues in creative ways.
  • Recognized as advanced individual contributor with specialized skill set.
  • Considered subject matter expert within discipline.
  • Having wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.
  • Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
  • Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
  • Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise.
