Job Summary:
The Energy GBU Innovation Manager is responsible for driving the innovation agenda within the Energy Global Business Unit (GBU). This role champions the development, piloting, and implementation of innovative concepts, digital solutions, and work processes that align with strategic project requirements, reduce costs, and accelerate project delivery. The successful candidate will work closely with the GBU AI Solutions manager to cultivate a culture of innovation, facilitate cross-functional collaboration, and ensure the successful adoption of new technologies and methodologies across projects and functional teams.
This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership #LI-AA1
Major Responsibilities:
- Promote a culture of innovation within the Energy GBU, raising awareness and providing educational resources and tools for colleagues.
- Collaborate with the GBU Innovation Manager and serve as a conduit between the GBU leadership, project and functional managers, and project teams.
- Develop and execute innovation strategies, identifying opportunities for pilot projects and full-scale implementation.
- Oversee proof-of-concept pilots and guide them through testing, deployment, and scaling phases, coordinating with internal resources and third parties as required
- Champion communication and engagement around innovation activities, including updates, events, and demonstrations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Lead the implementation of innovation programs, overseeing deployment teams.
- Develop and deliver execution plans and upskilling initiatives for digital and physical solutions.
- Monitor and track innovative use-cases.
- Interface with corporate Innovation function and other GBU Innovation functions to leverage existing solutions and cross-GBU work.
- Establish and manage the innovation portfolio by defining impact measures and evaluating the overall value of deployed pilots.
- Develop business cases for prioritized innovations, capturing impact, cost savings, and projected benefits.
- Capture lessons learned, best practices, and feedback to continuously improve innovation processes.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or more advanced in Engineering, Construction Management, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field or 10+ years of experience in engineering, construction, project controls, procurement, automation, or information systems, with a strong track record in innovation and digital transformation.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams and implementing new work processes and technologies.
- Proficiency in design thinking, lean startup, and change management methodologies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- High proficiency in English (written and spoken).
- Experience presenting to executive-level audiences and collaborating in a global, multicultural environment.
- Ability to facilitate meetings, enable organizational change, and institutionalize new processes and tools.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with BIM, GIS and data analytics
