Job Summary:
Bechtel is currently looking for an Infrastructure Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our Talent Acquisition team in North America. This person will lead full-cycle recruiting efforts for combined cycle power generation projects across all functions including engineering, construction, commissioning, supply chain, and project controls. This role will partner closely with hiring managers, project leadership, HR business partners, and workforce planning teams to identify, attract, and hire highly qualified talent for domestic combined cycle projects.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the power generation industry, particularly combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) facilities, and experience recruiting for complex EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) environments.
Major Responsibilities:
- Lead full life-cycle recruitment for combined cycle power generation positions, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, offer negotiation, and onboarding support.
- Develop unique and robust search strategies across a variety of functions and disciplines including research to identify specific target companies and talent based on needs of the Combined Cycle business.
- Build pipelines of qualified candidates for roles related to combined cycle plants, gas turbines, steam turbines, HRSG systems, electrical systems, instrumentation and controls, construction, engineering, and commissioning.
- Build out talent networks and leverage recognized industry sources to develop external talent pipelines
- Provide strategic guidance and advice to business leaders and other stakeholders on talent market and search strategies
- Identify and build relationships with strategic talent in the industry
- Maintain and update Bechtel’s Applicant Tracking System, SuccessFactors, with timely and accurate candidate status information
- Partner with hiring managers to understand workforce needs, project timelines, staffing plans, and critical skill requirements.
- Maintain efficient and effective communication with candidates, business leaders, HR Business Partners and other stakeholders
- Champion diverse hiring strategies
- Conduct high-level screening and behavioral interviews
- Ensure a white-glove candidate experience reflective of Bechtel’s VV&Cs
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Human Resources, Organizational Development or related field plus 8 years of related professional experience OR 12 years of related professional experience in lieu of degree.
- Minimum 5 years of recruiting experience, preferably in power generation, industrial construction, EPC, energy, or heavy industrial sectors.
- Experience recruiting for combined cycle power plant projects, gas turbine facilities, or related energy infrastructure.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Expert level knowledge in all full life-cycle recruiting components including, but not limited to, sourcing, qualifying, networking, assessing, job analysis, etc.
- Prior experience recruiting hard-to-fill or niche positions
- Prior experience working for a recruitment agency supporting EPC firms, power generation companies, or industrial construction projects.
- Strong communication, relationship management, analytical and critical thinking skills
- Knowledge and experience with behavioral interviewing techniques
- Experience with Talent Acquisition systems & software (SuccessFactors or other applicant tracking systems, Candidate Relationship Management tools, etc.)
- Experience working with global teams and cultures
- Ability to present new recruiting concepts to executive leadership and technical communities
- Current AIRS (Advanced Internet Recruitment Strategies) or other related professional certification
- Demonstrated understanding of functional organizations, matrix structure and organizational culture
