Job Summary:

In this role, you will perform investigations of alleged fraud or deviations from Bechtel’s standards of conduct. You will analyze documents and witness testimony, conduct interviews, assist in handling allegations, and write report summaries. You will support managers with expertise and training to help ensure compliance with Bechtel’s Code of Conduct, policies, management instructions, and procedures.  #LI-HB1

This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and will require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership.

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Conducts ethics and compliance investigations of suspected violations of the corporation’s ethical standards, compliance with applicable laws, regulations and corporate policy issues presented for inquiry to a complete resolution.
  • Conducts compliance and ethics reviews and risk assessments. Prepares concise and factual reports to support compliance related assessments and investigations. 
  • Develops, coordinates, and presents compliance training. 
  • Develops, tests, and publishes new compliance training courses.
  • Responds to inquiries and issues guidance and clarification on ethics and compliance policies to employees and managers. 
  • Assists with the coordination and response to internal and external agency audits related to ethics and compliance.  
  • Ensures risk areas are identified and monitored using formal and informal assessments and gap analysis. 
  • Reviews policies, procedures, and instructions to ensure compliance with applicable rules and regulations. 
  • Works to mitigate ethics and compliance risks and ensures policies and procedures are being followed. 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong analytical skills; ability to interpret and present analytical results accurately, and make recommendations for action.
  • Knowledge of and experience with the Microsoft Office Suite and database management.
  • Must possess a valid passport and be prepared to travel on an "as needed" basis.
  • Ability to organize and analyze data and information gathered to support investigative findings.
  • Proficiency advance language skills in Spanish.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to work with people at all levels in the company.                             
  • Mastery of investigative methods to provide analytical and technical support for the planning and execution of an investigation.
  • Experience with Bechtel Case Management System (BCMS) and using BCMS to create any requested report.
  • Flexible team player willing to accept new challenges and assignments based on needs of the department and the business.
  • Detail oriented with ability to maintain confidentiality of highly sensitive material.
  • Must be highly credible and not afraid to express his or her opinions.
  • Demonstrated ability in time management and establishing priorities with limited supervision and exercise sound judgment and discretion.
  • Proactive and independent worker, with ability to balance a large and complex case load under short deadlines and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Current or previous coordinator experience.
