Job Summary:
In this role, you will lead a team and manage daily operations in support of Custom Arc Services electrical craft personnel, leading the recruitment of union IBEW specialty electricians, development and retention of core General Forepersons and Forepersons across all of Bechtel’s projects in North America. #LI-TH1
Major Responsibilities:
- Operational oversight for the recruitment, development, and retention of IBEW Professional staff across the US.
- Coordinates with site construction managers to maintain proper staffing levels
- Manages labor relations activities on construction projects and operating facilities
- Provides advice and guidance to labor relations personnel in the resolution of labor disputes, grievances, and work stoppages to prevent construction schedule delays
- Represents Custom Arc in meetings and manage the preparation of information and data to be discussed at these meetings
- Manages development and approves the preparation of labor and construction studies
- Reviews policies and practices and recommends changes and ensures that Custom Arc activities conform to company and site policies/procedures and legal requirements
- Supervises the development and implementation of process improvement initiatives with construction management
- Directs preparation of manual workforce forecasts for construction projects and plans for the resolution of critical craft shortages through nationwide recruiting and training efforts
- Develops contract language, negotiation strategies, and tactics to apply them in the IBEW union contract negotiations representing Custom Arc Services
- Consults with Legal on necessary legal actions resulting from labor disputes
- Collaborates and interfaces with construction leadership to ensure there is GBU alignment with Labor Relations and with Environmental, Safety and Health management regarding development and implementation of safety-related issues on construction projects
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Required bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Requires 15 years of relevant work experience with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) and 20+ years of relevant work experience on union projects
- Industrial Construction Technical Skills including critical Craft Professional Work Scopes, Qualifications
- Relevant experience and performance in electrical, structural, equipment operation, rigging, scaffolding, etc.
- 20+ Years in Craft Supervision on Direct Hire work.
- Effective planner in forecasting needs and opportunities
- Demonstrated functional leadership and management of skilled critical electrical craft professionals
- Effective communicator with Project Leadership teams, Employees, Safety Professionals, Work Force Services, Corporate Functions
- Subject Matter Expert on multiple electrical practices is preferred
- Willingness to Travel in US, as required
