Job Summary:

In this role, you will lead a team to develop, coordinate, and implement a facility operations training program. Your team will assist with program requirements, budget estimates, training manuals, and with maintaining a comprehensive records system. Your leadership will help ensure goals are attained, schedules are met, modifications are made as necessary, and reporting requirements are fulfilled.  #LI-MJ1 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Develops, coordinates, implements, and administers authorized training and development programs for a small sized facility.
  • Provides technical expertise and assistance to management personnel to establish training and development program requirements.
  • Assist with generation of commissioning startup procedures or work instructions.
  • Determines, with the assistance of management personnel, the general training and development program requirements to comply with management and/or client directives.
  • Prepares initial budget estimate for training and development and submits it to the Project Manager, Facility Manager, or the responsible functional training manager.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety practices as per corporate, client, and industry standards.
  • Develops or obtains training manuals and instructional aids and materials as required.
  • Administers and monitors all training and development programs to ensure goals are attained, schedules are met, modifications are made as necessary, and reporting requirements are observed.
  • Ensures that a comprehensive training records system is established and maintained.
  • Read and interpret drawings and troubleshoot / resolve technical issues.
  • Vendor Management:
    • Undertakes quarterly business reviews with vendors to review performance and ways to improve interaction.
    • Responsible for production of project-specific commissioning RFPs and responding to bid clarifications.
    • Leads and manages external resources.
    • Schedules and directs periodic commissioning meetings.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-15 years of relevant work experience.
  • Demonstrated mission critical commissioning experience required.
  • 3+ years leadership experience in a mission-critical environment preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage a wide variety of issues simultaneously.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills for coordination with engineering, operations, and client teams.
  • Demonstrated Zero Incident ES&H commitment, ensuring strict compliance with safety standards during energization and startup.
  • Experience with Commissioning Software (Smart Completions) and/or Digital Software.
  • Strong analytical / organizational skills.
  • Experience in commissioning or a technical consulting field such as facility design, engineering, construction management or related area.
  • Strong and effective communicator at all levels within the business.
  • Strong background in project execution planning, risk analysis, and contract/subcontract negotiations.
  • Identifies owner’s goals, needs, and expectations for building operation and function; identifies the commissioning responsibilities.
  • Proven leadership and supervisory skills with a focus on mentorship and accountability.
  • Familiarity with Tamper-Seals and Labels.
  • Knowledge of ASHRAE Guidelines and Standards.
  •  Ability to organize and staff CSU teams within a matrix organization and manage multidisciplinary teams.
