Project Overview:

Job Summary:

In this role, you will establish, administer, and implement the suite of startup applications, automation tools, workflows, data transfers, and templates according to the project automation plan. You will configure reporting according to requirements, ensure accuracy, and analyze feedback and trends. You will make recommendations for improvements and ensure reports are functioning as intended.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Supports the suite of Startup Automation applications on the jobsite 
  • Establishes data requirements for the startup automation tools in accordance with the project automation plan, designing/developing workflows, forms, and templates for automation tools 
  • Assists with functional project automation support to ensure startup applications comply with Startup work-processes and procedures 
  • Customizes applications and reports (e.g., SmartCompletions, Q4Safety, PowerBI, SQL server reporting services (SSRS), etc.) to support startup reporting requirements 
  • Prepares test plans, migration plans, job aids, and new release forms for new versions of startup automation tools before they are released for use 
  • Acts as startup automation main point of contact during construction, commissioning, and turnover phases of the project 
  • Develops relationships across integrated team, contractors, and third parties 
  • Supports reviews of performance curves, metrics, trackers, and user feedback to show trends, and use in improvements 
  • Recommends adjustments in coordination with the Project Startup Manager, Project Field Engineer, and Site Manager 
  • Manages output data and prepares startup reports with direction from Project Startup Manager, Project Field Engineer, and Site Manager

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires BS Degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related Technical Degree (or international equivalent) and 6-10 years of relevant experience or 10-15 years of relevant work experience.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills for coordination with engineering, operations, and client teams.
  • Experience with Commissioning Software (Smart Completions) and/or Digital Software.
  • Experience in commissioning or a technical consulting field such as facility design, engineering, construction management or related area.
  • Proven leadership and supervisory skills with a focus on mentorship and accountability.
  • Knowledge of ASHRAE Guidelines and Standards.
  • Identifies owner’s goals, needs, and expectations for building operation and function; identifies the commissioning responsibilities.
  • Advanced knowledge of Project Controls quantity tracking and reporting processes.
  • Leadership or Supervisory experience, ideally leading a Construction Automation Team on a Bechtel jobsite.
  • Experience with or exposure to Hexagon’s Smart Completions Software.
