Project Overview:
Bechtel is partnering with NextDecade to support their vision to provide the world access to lower carbon intensive energy with their Rio Grande LNG (RGLNG) project in Brownsville, Texas.
RGLNG is a natural gas liquefaction and export terminal situated on a 984-acre site on the banks of the Brownsville ship channel. The first phase of the RGLNG project consists of three liquefaction trains, two storage tanks and one marine berth. At full capacity, the five-train facility will have a production capacity of 27 million tonnes per annum (MTPA).
Job Summary:
In this role, you will provide non-routine cost engineering/planning and scheduling needs to projects. You will establish stakeholder relationships, conduct schedule analysis and integrate activities, identify restraints, quantify risks, monitor cost and performance, recommend alternatives, and deliver training sessions and workshops. Your activities will synthesize project components into seamless execution. #LI-CS1
Major Responsibilities:
- Coordinates non-routine cost engineering/planning and scheduling needs to projects
- Coordinates with all departments to ensure understanding of total project schedule needs
- Conducts project schedule analysis and studies of problem areas to determine criticality of schedule activities
- Collects and analyzes alternatives for schedule improvement
- Assists, when requested, in the development and review of schedule recovery plans, including evaluation of additional resources/costs required to affect such plans
- Coordinates the development and accuracy of cost reports
- Prepares specific budgets in accordance with prescribed standards and procedures
- Leads risk workshops, interviews and information gathering as it relates to risk identification, review, and update
- Carries out risk quantification activities as required
- Delivers training sessions and facilitates workshops
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Experience in performing, monitoring, and reviewing planning and scheduling functions, which include schedule development, control, and analysis, in the field and the home office.
- Knowledge of supervision, personnel administration, and training of technical and non-technical personnel.
- Skilled in oral and written communication.
- Proficiency in using PC operating systems and several basic software applications.
- Proficiency in using multiple discipline-specific software applications currently used by Bechtel (e.g., PCWorks, Primavera, and Microsoft Project).
- Intermediate level of knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and startup work processes, as performed by Bechtel.
- Knowledge of engineering and construction management customarily acquired over time through specialized instruction or practical experience.
