SUMMARY:

Participates in the operation of quality systems in a design office or field location requiring the application of quality engineering principles and technical analysis. Helps apply, analyze, and validate the sufficiency of data, testing and inspection procedures and results. Uses analytical and statistical methods to assess risk and diagnose and improve quality practices. Provides data and information to facilitate quality improvement.

JOB DIMENSIONS:

A.  Supervision Received

  • Performs most assignments with supervision and guidance as to the general requirements.
  • Receives operational supervision and technical direction from a Quality Supervisor or Project Quality Manager.

C.  Contacts

  • Maintains contact with personnel in engineering, environmental, procurement, construction, administrative services, testing, operations, start-up, commissioning, decommissioning and others, as required by assignments, to impart or obtain information.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  1. Helps determine relevant quality parameters through statistical and analytical techniques to improve work processes and reduce the risk of quality related issues.
  2. Maps work processes and physical systems to aid in process and design failure modes and effects analysis.
  3. Helps aggregate information and data on design and work-process interfaces to assess health.
  4. Gathers and analyzes quality data and metrics to assess work process health.
  5. Helps develop and implement quality system tools and procedures to support work processes.
  6. Participates in independent assessments to enable the timely mitigation of technical and project management risks.
  7. Helps track the effectiveness of corrective actions and process improvement activities.
  8. Helps maintains quality management system elements and tools.

 

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A recognized degree in an Engineering or scientific discipline.
  • Must be inclined to pursue career in Quality Control, Quality Assurance or Quality Management
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills, oral and written
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft office (excel in particular)
  • General awareness of Oil & Gas, Refinery & Petrochemical and Power industries

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Currently enrolled in a four-year Master of Science degree program in any discipline within Engineering, Business Administration, Business Management, or Construction Management from an accredited college or university
  • Previous co-op or internship experience
  • Strong GPA
  • Data analysis using Six Sigma tools or Statistical Quality Control
