Technical Services Analyst


Role Overview

The Technical Service Analyst is a member of the IS&T Technical Services Team in the Global Infrastructure Operations organization.  This team is responsible for supporting application traffic flow, and for controlling inbound/outbound access on the enterprise network.


The Technical Services Analyst will be responsible for the following duties and activities:


  • Manage Juniper and Palo Alto firewall policies
  • Manage Pulse Secure SSL-VPN appliances
  • Manage F5 load balancers
  • Manage IPAM and DHCP server deployment
  • Work with InfoSec and application teams to ensure successful deployment of applications in compliance with security guidelines and Change Management procedures
  • Provide recommendation for application connectivity and Bechtel’s network/AD infrastructure requirements
  • Provide third level technical support for application traffic flow and Internet access issues
  • Provide off-hour support based on rotation


Basic Qualifications


  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related cirriculum with strong communication skiils is preferred
  • 5+ years experience in IT Operations with responsibilities related to networking
  • Working experience with at least ONE of the following: load balancer, firewall, SSL-VPN, proxy
  • Ability to analyze connectivity and application problems to find solutions
  • Ability to adapt to new technologies and complex infrastructures
  • Ability to coordinate tasks with inter-disciplinary teams


Additional Qualifications

  • Experience in configuring/troubleshooting gateway technologies including SSL-VPN, load balancers, firewalls, and proxy servers
  • Knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies, TCP/IP, Ethernet, and networking protocols
  • Knowledge of HTTP traffic and SSL standards
  • Experience in using network troubleshooting tools such as WireShark and Fiddler
  • Juniper, Cisco, and Microsoft certifications in related technologies are a plus
  • Experience in scripting/automation is not a requirement, but strongly desired
