About the Role:

We are seeking a talented and passionate Power BI Developer to join our team and play a key role in transforming raw data into actionable insights. You will work closely with Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) and be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI, and ensuring the accurate and efficient flow of data through Azure Data Factory. Your strong SQL skills will be instrumental in extracting and manipulating data for insightful analysis.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Dashboard and Report Development:
  • Create visually appealing and interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI Desktop, leveraging various charts, graphs, and visualizations.
  • Implement drill-down functionalities and user interactions to enable deep data exploration.
  • Integrate external data sources and services using APIs and custom connectors.
  • Ensure reports are optimized for performance and scalability.
  • Data Acquisition and Modeling:
  • Collaborate with data analysts and business users to understand business requirements, translate them into technical specifications for data models, and review accuracy and validity of outputs to ensure alignment with functional goals and reporting standards.
  • Design and build efficient data models using Power BI Desktop, including relationships, hierarchies, and measures.
  • Develop and implement ETL/ELT processes using Azure Data Factory to extract, transform, and load data from various sources.
  • Write and optimize complex DAX queries to ensure efficient data retrieval and analysis.
  • Deployment and Maintenance:
  • Publish Power BI reports to the Power BI Service for secure access and sharing.
  • Implement security measures and role-based access controls to secure data access.
  • Monitor report performance and troubleshoot any issues.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest Power BI features and best practices.
  • Collaborate with other developers and IT teams to integrate Power BI solutions with other enterprise systems.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
  • Work closely with business analysts and stakeholders to understand their reporting needs.
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly and concisely to non-technical audiences.
  • Mentor junior developers and share knowledge within the team.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the BI infrastructure and development processes.

 

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience as a Power BI Developer or in a related role.
  • In-depth knowledge of Power BI Desktop and the Power BI Service, including DAX, M language, and data modeling techniques.
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL/ELT processes.
  • Proficiency in writing and optimizing complex SQL queries.
  • Experience with Azure Data Factory or similar data integration tools is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Passion for data visualization and creating impactful insights.
  • Prior experience with financial data is required.
  • Comfortable working with cross-functional and distributed teams.
