Project Controls - Engineer (Vadodara)

JOB DESCRIPTION

SUMMARY:

Performs schedule development, updation, maintenance, and monitoring of the assigned projects. Supports project team in achieving the scheduled targets. Works with the organizational and administrative activities, when delegated. Performs cost engineering and change management / trends related activities as required.

QUALIFICATION:

Any Engineering Graduate (BE/BTech) with 3 to 5 years of design consulting experience, preferably in EPC(M) industry.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

 

The following duties are performed with respect to Scheduling:

 

  1. Identifies work activities within a discipline area or specialty.
  2. Determines work sequences for a specific discipline or specialty. Identifies inter-discipline constraints or interfaces that define activity sequence.
  3. Compiles durations for activities within a discipline or specialty.
  4. Assists a discipline or specialty in developing individual work plans and overall requirements. Gathers required information from other disciplines or groups and formulates schedule sequence.
  5. Integrates inter-discipline schedule requirements and constraints to establish logical work sequences for assigned disciplines or specialties.
  6. Prepares and updates Level 5 schedules for Engineering and procurement
  7. Develops design quantity release curves for assigned disciplines or specialties.
  8. Performs assigned tasks related to implementing standards and techniques for updating and monitoring schedule data needed for effective schedule control.
  9. Gathers and verifies data on schedule, work force, and quantities to update and status discipline or specialty progress and performance reports.
  10. Identifies and reports activities that have a critical or potential impact on schedule via the Schedule analysis and exception reports.
  11. Monitors schedule deviation for assigned disciplines or specialties and recommends corrective action/workaround solutions for project considerations.

 

The following duties are performed with respect to Cost Engineering:

  1. Development of Staffing plan and budget hours.
  2. Home office non-manual job hour monitoring and reporting.
  3. Average grade and average rate analysis.
  4. Assists in developing unit job hour and pricing data for productivity.

 

JOB KNOWLEDGE:

Skilled in oral and written communication skill.

An intermediate level of knowledge of engineering discipline functions, procedures and work processes, as performed by Bechtel.

Demonstrates a beginning level of understanding of Project Controls functions and different levels of schedules and reports

Good knowledge of Microsoft office tools – Excel, Word, Power point

Demonstrates a beginning level of knowledge of procurement, contracts, construction, and startup work processes, as performed by Bechtel.

Knowledge of earned value management system and EPPR.

Knowledge of tracking and controlling the engineering release of bulk commodities.

Basic knowledge of PC tools like Primavera, MS Project, Ecosys / any other Level 5 engineering scheduling software will be preferred.
