Job Description

Performs assigned tasks involved in the formation, administration and expediting of purchase orders. Communicates with suppliers and personnel within Project to assure performance to purchase order requirements. Using prescribed procedures and methods, performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced procurement / contracts professional.

Maintains contact with the immediate work group or discipline and interfaces with other project personnel as specifically directed.


ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
Forms and issues purchase orders by preparing bidders’ lists, forming bid packages, issuing bid requests, coordinating bidders’ questions, expediting bids, receiving bids, preparing Commercial Bid Summary and recommendation letter, recommending and securing approvals in accordance with established procedures, preparing and committing orders and preparing and maintaining control and status reports.

Administers assigned purchase orders, monitoring supplier performance for conformance to commercial terms, monitoring activities by Engineering and other in-house functions to ensure compliance with the order terms, initiating follow-up actions with the supplier or in-house functional group to ensure performance in accordance with contract terms and conditions.

Performs expediting activities in accordance with Project Procedures to ensure the timely delivery of materials and equipment to meet project needs.  Contacts suppliers to obtain timely submission of engineering data, and to follow-up on material acquisition, production progress and shipment.

JOB KNOWLEDGE:
 

Must be pursuing Engineering degree or supply chain management graduate/post graduate course from a reputed Institute

Must be inclined to pursue career in Procurement/supply chain management.

Ability to work in a team environment

Proficient in organizing tasks for completion

Good analytical and communication skills, oral and written.

Proficiency in the use of Microsoft office.

General awareness of Oil & Gas, Refinery & Petrochemical and Power industries
