Power BI Developer

About the Role:

We are looking for a bright and curious individual to join our team as a Power BI Developer. In this role, you will gain valuable hands-on experience in the exciting world of data visualization and analytics. You will work closely with experienced developers and analysts to translate business needs into insightful Power BI reports and dashboards. This is a perfect opportunity for someone with a strong foundation in SQL and an eagerness to learn and grow in the Power BI domain.

Responsibilities:

• Data Understanding and Preparation:
• Assist with gathering and understanding business requirements for data visualization and analysis.
• Work with existing data models and sources, learning about data structures and relationships.
• Perform basic data cleansing and manipulation tasks under guidance from senior developers.
• Report Development and Design:
• Create simple Power BI reports and dashboards utilizing basic visualizations and charts.
• Apply basic DAX formulas and calculations to enhance report insights.
• Implement best practices for design and usability, ensuring reports are user-friendly and informative.
• Support and Collaboration:
• Provide technical support to users on basic Power BI functionality and report navigation.
• Collaborate with analysts and stakeholders to refine reporting requirements and troubleshoot issues.
• Document report development processes and learnings for future reference.

Qualifications:

• 2+ experience working with Power BI Desktop, even if limited to data exploration and basic report creation.
• Strong understanding of SQL concepts and ability to write basic queries for data retrieval and manipulation.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to learn from senior developers and interact effectively with stakeholders.
• Eagerness to learn and a passion for data analysis and visualization.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.

Bonus Points:

• Experience with data modeling concepts and tools.
• Knowledge of other BI platforms like Tableau or QlikView.
• Familiarity with basic Python or R scripting for data analysis.
• Prior experience with financial data.
