Sr. Oracle EBS Database Administrator

Position Duties/Responsibilities

A senior level Oracle Apps DBA with strong experience of 10-12 years in handling Oracle EBS R12.2 environment is required. This position is expected to take ownership and work independently on his/her own and act as mentor in guiding mid-level and junior DBAs. Also, this position will be part of DBA team providing Development and Production DBA services. The applications supported by these databases are from a wide variety of vendor provided to in-house developed apps.


The EBS DBA has the following duties and responsibilities:

Installation, Upgrade and maintenance of Oracle EBS R12.2/R12.1 and its relational database and supporting software

EBS 12.2 support and maintenance. This includes cloning, patching, concurrent manager support. Also includes iSupplier portal and DMZ installation and maintenance experience.

SOA 12c installation, support.

Oracle Endeca installation and integration with EBS.

WebLogic maintenance and support - Install, define and performance tune managed servers in WebLogic.

Oracle database 12c maintenance and support. This includes Oracle database upgrade, Oracle RAC, performance tuning, backup and recovery.

OEM support and maintenance.

Linux and windows OS experience. Linux shell scripting. Designing and assisting with capacity planning, sizing, and space management

Writing database programs in an appropriate administrative language for the purpose of automating processes and supporting applications

Designing, developing, documenting, and validating database backup and recovery plans in accordance with the business requirements

Providing user-level system services such as setting up accounts, assigning passwords, and setting privileges

Maintaining database system and account security through the use of established procedures, promptly report any breaches

Monitoring database system and application performance including its integration with operating system usage. Correcting and tuning abnormalities

Providing technical support by troubleshooting and resolving database system and related operating system, and application problems

Researching, evaluating, and documenting recommendations on database systems and applications to meet business requirements


Experience in the following areas will be a strong plus:

Experience in Oracle SSO support and maintenance.

Experience in Managing Oracle RAC and ASM in an Exadata environment.

Experience in OTM/GTM, EDQ, Agile and Unifier.

Experience in Datagurd


Other requirements:

Experience working in 24/ 7 / 365 delivery & multi-client support model.

Flexible to work in 24 * 7 Support.


Basic Qualifications

Minimum of 10 years of Information Technology experience

Bachelors / Maters Degree required

Oracle Certification (OCP/OCA), ITIL certification preferred 


Additional Information

Excellent English communication and interpersonal skills. Experience in end-client facing roles will be strong plus.

Ability to work under pressure and in an environment with multiple clients.
