The Mechanical Engineering team is increasing capabilities to support projects in the Oil, Gas and Chemicals, business unit of Bechtel Global. There is a vacancy in the Gurgaon office for professional with OG&C experience as Mechanical Static (Columns and their Internals/Pressures Vessels/Heat Exchangers/Air Cooled HEx/Filters/Tanks/Static Packages) Engineer, qualified to degree level. A minimum of Three years’ industrial experience is required for this position.  Candidate should have worked in project teams carrying out detailed engineering for execution of FEED, EPCM, EPC modes of execution for Indian / International projects.


The Mechanical Engineer will report to the Commodity Lead / Group Lead and duties will include the following:

  • Review for completeness of Process and Mechanical related data
  • Review of other Engineering discipline documents for completeness
  • Participating in IDC process. Interaction with Engineering disciplines,
  • Design, preparation of MDS/Engineering drawings, MRQs. Review of Quotes, analyzing deviations, raising of TQs, TBEs, MRPs
  • Review of VPs 
  • Execute work on workshare mode.
  • Support project/proposal activities
  • Participating in Value Engineering, design and cost optimization.
  • Interfacing / IDC with other departments for Mechanical commodities  
  • Implement/Capture Lesson Learnt
  • Conduct independent work of desired quality within schedule and cost
  • Travel to support activities at other engineering offices, supplier’s works, construction sites
  • Engineering for working on EPC/EPCM, FEED and other modes of project execution
    Specific capabilities required for the role include experience in:
  • Detail engineering for Static Equipment and related packages for Refinery, LNG, Petrochemical Process Units, Off-site and Utilities
  • Knowledge on Thermal design using HTRI
  • Understand various types of materials to be used
  • Knowledge of Design using ASME Section VIII Div. 1 and Div. 2, TEMA and other supporting sections of ASME  
  • Knowledge of industry / regulatory codes and standards like ASME, TEMA, ANSI, API, BS, BIS, Licensor & Client specifications, OISD
  • Hands-on experience on industry softwares: Compress, PVElite, BJAC, HTRI
  • Familiarity with model reviews and use of SPR is desirable
  • Ability to coordinate work with other engineering disciplines and other stake holders     
  • Broad working knowledge of the principles and practices of executing large projects
    Education required (minimum):
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university
    The Mechanical Engineer will work as part of Global Bechtel team and should have basic flair for working with personnel of different nationalities. Should have a good proficiency for spoken and written English language.
    Candidate to mention their experience in Refinery/Petrochemical units, Off-sites and Utilities, LNG indicating details of Equipment/Packages dealt with and extent of Engineering/involvement by self.
    Candidate to mention valid visa available including detail of Type, expiry date. Denial of USA visa earlier at any stage need to be indicated.
