Project Overview

The Mechanical Engineering team is increasing capabilities to support projects in the Oil, Gas and Chemicals, business unit of Bechtel Global. There is a vacancy in the Vadodara office for Engineer, qualified to degree level, with OG&C experience as Mechanical Rotating Equipment (API & Non- API Centrifugal Pumps/ Rotary & Reciprocating Pumps/ Fans & Blowers, Dosing Packages/ Fire Water Pumps/ Pneumatic Pumps etc.). A minimum of three years’ industrial experience is required for this position. Candidate should have worked as Responsible Engineer with experience preferred in execution of Detailed Engineering on any mode_FEED, EPCM, EPC of execution for Indian / International projects.

 

Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct independent work
  • Review of Process package for completeness of Process and Mechanical related data.
  • Review of PFDs, PIDs, MSDs, Process Calculations and Data Sheets for Pumps and commenting/review on the same for completeness.
  • Develop technical specifications for Equipment/Package. Review of specifications from Licensor / Client / PMC.
  • Participating in IDC process. Interaction with Engineering disciplines, Bidders / Vendors.
  • Preparation of Mechanical Datasheets, MRQs, Review of Quotes, analyzing deviations, preparation of TQs, TBEs, MRPs.
  • Review of VPs.
  • Execute work on workshare mode.
  • Support project/proposal activities.
  • Participating in Value Engineering, design and cost optimization.
  • Part of reviews - on projects, including for technical and constructability reviews.
  • Implement/Capture Lesson Learnt.
  • Execute work with sound engineering practices and of desired quality within schedule and cost.
  • Part of process for resolving Vendor/Site queries. Interaction with Inspection Agencies, Expeditors, other agencies for delivery of Equipment/Packages.
  • Providing Inputs for Progress reporting.
  • Supporting the project through construction and commissioning phases.
  • Travel to support activities at other engineering offices, supplier’s works, construction sites.
  • Engineering for working on EPC/EPCM, FEED and other modes of project execution.
  • Specific capabilities required / preferred for the role include experience in:
  • Detail engineering for Rotating Equipment and related packages for Refinery, LNG, Petrochemical Process Units, Off-sites and Utilities.
  • Proper selection of rotating equipment (Pumps) and auxiliaries as per the process conditions and specific project requirements.
  • Knowledge of different Process Licenser specific design requirements and construction features.
  • Knowledge in governing API, ANSI / ASME, NFPA codes and standards.
  • Experience of working on Air and Process Gas Compressors would be an advantage.
  • Familiarity with model reviews and use of SPR is desirable.
  • Ability to coordinate work with other engineering disciplines
  • Broad working knowledge of the principles and practices of executing large projects.

 

Qualifications & Skills

Basic Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university
  •  2- 4 years of relevant work experience.

 

Additional Information

The Mechanical Engineer will work as part of Global Bechtel team and should have basic flair for working with personnel of different nationalities.

Should have a good proficiency for spoken and written English language.

Candidate to mention their experience in Refinery/Petrochemical units, Off-sites and Utilities, LNG projects indicating details of Equipment/Packages dealt with and extent of Engineering/involvement by self in their resume.

Candidate to mention valid visa available including detail of type, expiry date. Denial of USA visa earlier at any stage need to be indicated.
