Role Overview:

The Engineering team is increasing capabilities to support projects in the Infrastructure business unit of Bechtel Global. There is vacancy for professional MEP, HVAC Infrastructure experienced Mechanical/Electrical Engineer, qualified to degree level. 

Candidate should have experience Detail Engg., FEED, EPCM, EPC LSTK modes of execution for Indian and International projects. 

The MEP -BIM Coordinator will report to the GL/APE/PEM and duties will include the following:

  • Participating in IDC process. Interaction with Engineering disciplines, Clients/PMC, Bidders/Vendors
  • Review of Vendor Documents 
  • Providing Inputs/Review for Progress reporting
  • Handling multidisciplinary team issues
  • Supporting the project through construction and commissioning phases

 

Specific capabilities required for the role include experience in:

  • Understanding of mechanical HVAC (Heating Ventilation and Air conditioning), Fire protection, Electrical, Plumbing and Controls systems as applicable to large complex facilities like Semiconductor Facility, Airports, Metros and similar public facilities (Candidates having proficiency in all or excellent skills in few and medium skills in other MEP attributes are also acceptable. Proficiency in different attributes to be clearly stated in CVs).
  • Architectural and structural construction of the building, equipment and service feeds and how they will layout within the building.
  • Good knowledge of ducts and pipes sizing, duct support, duct layout, noise and vibration analysis.
  • Good knowledge of piping software for fire and plumbing hydraulic calculation.
  • Prepare conceptual and detailed engineering plans, specifications, standard details and other MEP submittals to support construction.
  • Ability to understand and visualize constraints within the project and lead the coordination process with all MEP trades.
  • Ability to understand the order of activities as it pertains to construction sequence, adjust construction activities as necessary to maintain the project schedule.
  • Ability to identify problems in design, resolve conflicts and suggest alternative solutions.
  • Review and analyze all MEP design and shop drawings, materials.
  • Assist in the scope review, budgeting and justification of MEP change work order.
  • Plan, organize, review and evaluate the work of contractors during execution and handover.
  • Log and post all MEP changes and as-built information on field drawings.
  • Experience in using CAD software like AutoCAD, Autodesk MEP and Revit MEP.
  • Understand distinct types of materials to be used for different services and review of vendor proposed materials.
  • Knowledge of industry/regulatory codes and standards (NFPA, ASHRAE), Client specifications.
  • Preparation of documentation for submission to local bodies for review/approval.
  • Hands-on experience in industry.
  • Familiarity with software tools for MEP .
  • Knowledge of engineering work planning and schedules, related construction practices.
  • Ability to coordinate work with other engineering disciplines and other stake holders.    
  • Broad working knowledge of the principles and practices of executing large projects.

 

Education required (minimum):

  • Degree /Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university

 

Candidate will be required to:

  • Plan and conduct independent work within the Execution Unit, using sound judgment in the evaluation, selection, application and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures and criteria.
  • Interact with Global offices, execute work on workshare mode.
  • Develop standard documentation for use on projects
  • Training of designers for working on M&T / Infrastructure projects
  • Candidate will work as part of Global Bechtel team and should have basic flair for working with personnel of different nationalities.
  • Candidate to mention their experience in Infrastructure projects involving MEP, HVAC, Fire-fighting, Electrical, Control Systems, indicating details of Equipment/Packages dealt with and extent of Engineering/involvement by self.
  • Candidate to mention valid visa available including detail of Type, expiry date. Denial of USA visa earlier at any stage need to be indicated.
