Automation Architect with strong experience of 12-15 years in infrastructure architecture/development on Oracle (OCI)/Azure Cloud and DevOps solutions and responsible for planning, implementing, and managing OCI/Azure Cloud and DevOps solutions. Also, have strong ability in DevOps automation, implementing scripted monitors, alerts, etc. This position is expected to take ownership and work independently on his/her own and guiding the team.

8+ Years’ experience Architecting on Oracle (OCI) and Azure cloud and DevOps solutions.

5+ Years’ experience infrastructure automation and scripting skills (Shell/Python/WLST)

5+ Years’ experience Hudson, Git, Ansible, Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins

 

Job Duties:

The Automation Architect has the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Perform OCI migration planning, designing and implementation.
  • Perform administration of OCI virtualization systems using native Oracle Cloud Infrastructure services, performing analysis, tuning, and troubleshooting
  • Lead the design and development of innovative cloud (OCI/Azure) and DevOps solutions.
  • Deep domain expertise of cloud infrastructure solutions (i.e., Windows and Linux IaaS, Security, Management, Storage, Networking, OSS, containers and Infra as a code technologies)
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation)
  • Ability to provide holistic and right scale cloud solutions that address scalability, availability, service continuity (DR), performance, and security requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with automation tooling such as Chef, Puppet, or Ansible
  • Work with the application, server, and database engineers to perform necessary troubleshooting activities and perform tuning and scaling activities.
  • Assist with migration of environments as necessary across datacenters and assist with Cloud-based initiatives.
  • Possess experience in a variety of cloud deployment models and experience with migrating on-premises to cloud, specifically OCI. Other Cloud experiences such as AWS, Azure and GCP are added advantages.
  • Scripting - Be able to automate the migration and standard tasks via scripting, when required.
  • Must have strong expertise in the following fundamental OCI/Azure Services (VPC, Subnet, Network interface, Internet Gateway, Route table, NAT Gateway, Network ACL, Direct Connect, VPC Peering, VPN, EC2).
  • Experience in configuring connectivity between on –Premise and Oracle/Azure Cloud with appropriate security configurations.
  • Experience on Containerization, orchestration, application Security & applications re-engineering
  • Experience on Cloud Infrastructure Automation involving Terraform, ARM, CloudFormation, Ansible, Chef & Puppet
  • Experience on Monitoring tools - ELK, Splunk, NewRelic, AppDynamics.
  • Experience on CI/CD methodologies, workflows, configuration management and tools such as Jenkins, Puppet, GitLab, Spinnaker, Docker & Kubernetes
  • Experience on Infrastructure Service such as DNS, DHCP, LDAP, and Sendmail/Postfix
  • Experience on Lifecycle Management Tools such as Spacewalk, Cobbler, Foreman and repository management with Pulp
  • Experience on Monitoring Systems such as Zabbix and LogicMonitor
  • Experience on Web and Development Technologies such as NginX, Apache, Tomcat, JBOSS and Java
  • CI and CD using Jenkins, Ansible, Python, Shell scripting, Change management, Azure Cloud knowledge and prod support activities.
  • Experience using Git and Build Release Management Tools.
  • Solid Linux & Windows experience
  • Document cloud infrastructure, create runbooks and playbooks.
  • Guide the team to solve build & deployment automation issues.
  • Work with across teams including (application, security & DevOps teams) to provide guidance and leadership for new and existing solutions.
  • Advise on leading cloud practices and architectural approaches.
  • Ability to review current infrastructure architecture and provide guidelines/roadmaps and prepare target infrastructure architecture to meet growing needs/requirements.

 

Experience in the following areas will be a strong plus:

  • Working knowledge of database technologies like Oracle, MySQL, MS SQL Server, Azure DB etc.
  • Working knowledge of EBS/SOA/WebLogic etc.
  • Perform production level support and be part of the 24x7 on-call rotation when required.
  • Work with customers and other teams to improve customer experience.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate within a cross functional team.
  • Ability to work with team members located in multiple geographies and time zones.

 

Education:

  • Bachelor's/Master’s degree in computer science or related discipline and at least 10-12 years of experience in Cloud architecture and Administrator methodologies, or an equivalent combination of education and work experiences.
