DEP- Data Quality Analyst

Key for your success in this role is your proven experience in Data Quality (DQ), a champion across all data management activities. Technically, you will be sound with experience in Data Visualization (DV), Data Modeling (DM), Data Integration and Interoperability (DI&I), Data Governance (DG), Reference Data Management (RDM), and ontology practices.

 

The Data Quality Analyst role reports to the DEP Master Data Management & Data Governance Lead (MDM & DG Lead) and works closely with DEP Enterprise Architect, DEP Solution Architect, Process Leads, System Leads, and other entities to ensure cross-functional alignment in driving the data specifications, systems and architecture requirements and many of the key design paradigms, principles and methodologies into DEP.  The position offers ample opportunity to "make a difference" and to be an active part of the decision-making process that leads to improvements and positive changes across the DEP implementation.

 

Essential Duties:

This role will lead and manage

        • our data quality platform (Oracle EDQ), including tool configuration and operating processes,
        • the collection, organization, and promotion of accurate and consistent data (master data, reference data, metadata) throughout the enterprise,
        • and associated integration, operation and health of the underlying systems. 

The key objectives for this role are to:

  • Deliver and manage, on behalf of the MDM & DG Lead, our future state DQ platform and operation.
  • Participate, with other MDM and DG members in the development of setup and initial operation of MDM and DG platform systems. These activities will include
    • Assist with DQ strategy develpment, process design, high-level DQ architecture requirements, and implementation
    • Champin DQ practices throughout the enterprise by building/maintaining relationships with stakeholders
    • Develp and maintain standards and policies for data quality
    • Define and fine-tune cre processes for DQ and RDM, and establish metrics that will enable the adoption of better data quality practices
    • Gather DQ requirements frm Business Stewards for initial profile/audit of source systems
    • Wrk with Data Modelers to ensure DQ requirements are factored into data model designs
    • Assist, with the design and definitin of ontologies, canonical models and class libraries to identify and fill knowledge gaps
    • Define and develp system and process controls to prevent, detect and resolve data quality issues
    • Defines and develps standard data quality rules and processes for profiling, cleansing, and enrichment
    • Inspect data t ensure it meets quality requirements
    • Prvide data quality advisory services to the organization
    • Measure data quality.  Design, cllect, analyze, and report on data quality assurance and performance metrics.
    • Share data quality inspectin results to build awareness and identify opportunities for improvement
    • Participates in system testing and user acceptance testing activities
    • Evangelize the rle of DQ and Ontologies

 

  • Participate in DEP Global Design to support workshop and requirement needs
    • Develp high-performing domain team members and enhance the MDM and DG team’s effectiveness through coaching, training, and mentoring
    • Supprt onboarding of initial DQ content
    • Prvide onboarding materials to workshop participants

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent EPC work experience
  • 7+ years of technical data experience, including combinations of: data quality, data stewardship, data modeling, data warehouse, process improvement applied to data quality, data lineage, ontology, and taxonomy
  • 5+ years working knowledge of writing clear and concise technical and user documentation, including combinations of: data quality policies, project charters, use cases, user stories, test cases, standard operating procedures, and training materials
  • 5+ years of experience with Enterprise DQ tools like Oracle EDQ, Informatica IDQ, Microsoft DQS, IBM Infosphere, etc.
  • 3+ years of experience in leading projects, planning, coordinating and monitoring project activities
  • 3+ years of experience in multi-disciplinary teams to normalize data and develop company-wide polices around data quality, classifications, and controlled vocabularies in large organizations
  • Sound knowledge of data management life cycle, data governance, reference data, metadata, data quality and capability maturity frameworks
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver multiple concurrent project or large-scale individual projects
  • Demonstrated ability to present ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences in organized manner
  • Demonstrated ability to work in an Agile fashion and delivering in a rapidly changing environment
  • Experience implementing data quality in relational and non-relational database systems (Neo4j, GraphDB, Azure Cosmos DB)
  • Experience in non-relational and relational query languages
  • Experience and or understanding of a digital transformation program
  • Able to not just lead but produce tangible deliverables (e.g., models, requirements, process diagrams)
  • Good communication skills, verbal and written
  • Ability to think out of the box and questioning everything
  • Prove passion for data quality discipline

 

Preferred Requirements:

  • Understanding of semantic standards (RDFS, OWL, SKOS)
  • Recognized data quality certification, e.g. IQCP, CIMP, ISO 8000
  • Relevant professional affiliations such as IQCP, CIMP, DAMA are preferred
  • Experience demonstrating and understanding of PII, CCPA, GDPR, Data Security and other data compliance frameworks
  • Experience with visualization and reporting tools such as Power BI, Qlik, Tableau, etc.
  • Experience in using ontologies to support data integration
  • Knowledge of Design Thinking
