Job Summary:
Are you looking to join a high-impact team, one that leads enterprise-level strategy development and supports executive decision making? Join Bechtel as a Strategy Associate on our Insights team, a key component of our Corporate Planning group.
Bechtel’s Corporate Planning team is comprised of our Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis team and our Corporate Strategy team, reporting directly to the CFO. The Insights team is designed to develop enterprise-level strategic assessments based upon broad market micro and macro trends, analysis of competitive dynamics, and research to support executive-level decision making that shapes the company for the long-term.
We are seeking a Strategy Associate with a strong background in financial analysis and market research. You will be responsible for providing insightful and actionable research and financial analysis on public companies.
Major Responsibilities:
- Monitors and analyzes market trends, economic data and industry developments.
- Conducts thorough fundamental and technical analysis of public and private companies.
- Prepares presentations and reports to communicate analysis and recommendations to executives.
- Stays updated with financial news, earnings reports, and other relevant customer and competitor information.
- Supports project-specific teams and partners with other members of the Corporate Planning team and leaders in our Global Business Unites, Functions and Service, as requested.
- Supports executives and Global Business Units with ad hoc analysis, as requested.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience
- Prior work experience in equity research, banking, consulting, or corporate development.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong research, analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Robust experience with financial analysis required; experience with financial valuation analysis, such as comparative company or precedent transaction analysis preferred.
- Demonstrated familiarity with financial valuation concepts and modeling.
- Highly experienced with Excel spreadsheets, creating PowerPoint presentations and Word documents
- Prior experience with Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters, S&P Capital IQ or FactSet preferred
- Must be able to solve practical problems and deal with multiple variables and a high degree of uncertainty.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High aptitude for learning quickly and assimilating information into concise summaries
- Demonstrates curiosity, self-learning, and complex problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working with cross-functional and distributed teams
- Demonstrates honesty and integrity
- Exceptional interpersonal skills
