CSA-Senior Automation Engineer (TEKLA)

Introduction

As part of an initiative to improve data integration and handover for EPC projects, Bechtel requires Work process Automation Senior Engineers, with the key skill sets explained below to successfully implement a new approach to information and data management, generally; configuration and deployment of tools, specifically.

EPC Automation Senior Engineer (TEKLA)

The EPC Automation Senior Engineer role will align cross-functional work processes, systems and architecture requirements specific to Trimble TEKLA and translated them into configuration and deployment across the Enterprise. The position offers ample opportunity to "make a difference" and to be an active part in the decision-making process that leads to improvements and positive change across the Enterprise towards deployment of a new set-up of tools.

Essential Duties

This role will develop, under supervision, our future state data centric execution strategy and implementation from the tools perspective. The person shall also engage with a cross-discipline and cross-functional team of work process Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and other functional stakeholders.

 

The scope shall essentially cover (but not be limited to) the following:

  • Setup, configuration and customization within TEKLA
  • Integration of TEKLA with other automation tools, for example, S3D
  • Documenting changes for the Enterprise
  • Some hands-on programming TEKLA to cater to new requirements as brought out by work process SMEs

 

 

The candidate should also have EPC project experience and should be able to understand business requirements. Understanding of TEKLA database structure and programming/scripting shall be an added advantage.

Basic Qualifications:

  1. Knowledge of industry and regulatory standards, design criteria and codes relevant to structural detail engineering;
  2. Knowledge of 3D tools especially TEKLA applicable to the structural engineering work;
  3. Excellent automation skills, with good understanding of the link between work processes and tools; strong skills around tools usage to create, view and edit data;
  4. Ability to originate, develop and deliver, if required, through supervision of engineering person(s), work process SMEs as part of overall team goals;
  5. Naturally curious and strong desire to solve problems;
  6. Intuitive ability to analyze and integrate data to solve analytical problems;
  7. Clear communication of complex methods in layman’s terms;
  8. Business understanding for data usage and consumption patterns;
  9. Ability to think out of the box with questioning attitude; and
  10. Team player, willing to walk the extra mile to meet the team goals.

 

Preferred Requirements:

  1. EPC Automation experience in setup, configuration and support for TEKLA.
  2. Knowledge around data integration and master data management will be a plus.
  3. Knowledge around TEKLA API will be a plus.
