Business Development Representative (Gurugram) 1

Responsible within a market sector to pursue assigned marketing and business development activities including prospect and customer analysis, competitor assessment, win plan execution and for recommending win plans, teaming arrangements, and alternative bidding strategies.



A.  Supervision Received

  • Reports to and receives moderate operational and functional supervision from the responsible Business Development Manager and/or Project Development Manager.

C.  Contacts

  • Develops and maintains frequent contacts with Senior and/or middle management of customer, stakeholder organizations, and industry personnel.


  • Maintains contacts with other business development representatives and technical/operations personnel.


  • Closely works with the Project Development Center leadership and team.




  1. For a specific prospect, performs necessary research on customer and competition, develops alternate bid strategies, recommends teaming requirements, develops and implements win plan recommendations, and prepares and manages proposal budgets.


  1. Performs various calculations of a moderately complex nature to help analyze the financial background of targeted prospects.


  1. Participates in the development of proposals.


  1. Develops and maintains industry association and tracks competitor activities and business trends.


  1. Develops relationships with prospective teaming partners and small business subcontractors.


  1. Should be willing to undertake frequent business and/or short term visits to Central Asia (Kazakhstan) and Middle East (UAE, Saudi Arabia & Iraq).


  1. Should be prepared and willing to work in this Role for at least 5 years. 






  • Knowledge of company capabilities and services available to customers.
  • Working knowledge of company policies related to the formulation and approval process for contracts and proposals.
  • General knowledge of the principles and techniques of developing business and sales including pre-positioning, targeting, and prospect pursuit.
  • Working knowledge of Company’s project execution strategies and processes in the OG&C business line.
  • General knowledge of Oil and Gas refining and petrochemical processes.

Responsible for a single job in a single market area with a single or a few small to moderately sized prospects.  Exercises significant discretion and operates under limited supervision.  Significant experience and expertise.
