Project Overview:
Bechtel is seeking to work with a major Indian corporation to provide Project Management Consultant (PMC) Services and Engineering Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM) Services for offsites and utilities (OSBL) for a multi-billion-dollar upgrade / expansion of their existing petrochemical facilities in India. The PMC Services will be led out of India with personnel deployed in Mumbai region, the project sites in India, as well as several key contractor locations across India. The EPCM Services for OSBL will be led out of Bechtel’s India offices. You will bring your experience and expertise to the PMC role while working within the customer’s organization as part of an integrated team. Job Summary:
This successful candidate will lead the Accounting Operations for Reliance OSBL Project in New Delhi, India, reporting to the Project Controls Manager.
The position will ensure that strong financial controls and procedures are in place and that the site is in compliance with Bechtel policies and contractual requirements.
The position requires the ability to maintain confidentiality with a strong ethical behavior in workplace practices, ability to interface with senior site Bechtel management, a customer-service orientation with a demonstrated professional demeanor and communication style, flexibility and commitment to meeting deadlines.
Major Responsibilities:
- Serve as the lead for Finance operations, ensuring alignment with Project goals and corporate financial policies.
- Prepare and supervise the monthly billings to the customer, ensuring accurate and timely invoices being issued, discrepancy resolution, and management reporting.
- Review, analyze, and report on financial, labor, and ledger data to ensure accuracy and integrity, and respond to inquiries from the Client, Project Management and other departments.
- Support the Accounts Payable function, working with the Field Procurement and Contracts teams to streamline invoice processes, facilitate approvals, and ensure timely vendor payments.
- Coordinate with internal, external, and customer audit teams to support audit readiness and compliance.
- Provide training, mentorship, and development opportunities for site finance staff.
- Support project employees with payroll and expense report inquiries and issue resolution.
- Additional duties as assigned by Project Management and Finance Manager (Energy)
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in Project Accounting roles, including supervisory experience
- Intermediate skills with Oracle financial applications, Microsoft Office suite especially Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with a major in accounting preferred
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Above average communications, analytical, and organizational skills
- Good initiative and ability to work independently while functioning effectively with a team environment
- Good business judgment in execution of assigned work and in understanding when issues need to be escalated for resolution
