Job Summary:
The Senior Payroll Processor position reports to Payroll Supervisor and interfaces with HR, Payroll Change Control, Payroll Compliance team within payroll, other accounting groups within shared services environment and project/location-based customers. Therefore, the position requires good communication and inter-personal skills. The position is responsible for managing end-to-end daily activities associated with timely and accurate processing of US Non-Manual Payroll using the enterprise SAP/other payroll tools and system working very closely with the payroll processors.
Candidate will be responsible resolving payroll processor / employee queries, preparing various ad-hoc reports and matrix reports of the process. The position requires auditing and validating employee payroll data such as tax withholding set up, various allowances, benefit payments and deductions, processing of time records, pension and insurance plan information in SAP. The auditing of payroll results by verifying manually entered transactions, warnings and review of inputs loads to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing will be integral part of the role. The Senior Payroll Processor is also assigned special studies or analysis from time to time on as needed basis.
Candidate must apply sound financial acumen and concepts beyond the simple adherence to detailed procedures and instructions, recommending solutions to unusual problems. Assist with functional testing and provides feedback and support for system design changes and enhancements. Assignment calls for strong judgment and resourcefulness to resolve problems where solutions are not obvious.
Major Responsibilities:
- The position will focus on scheduled performance of payroll tasks, using tools and systems such as SAP for time and attendance information and payroll processing, Service Now, Aconex for audit trails and documentation and mailbox handling for supporting employee queries for overall control and timely delivery of payrolls within the team setting working closely with other team members.
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing activities for assigned payrolls (e.g., US Non‑Manual or country-specific payrolls) using enterprise payroll systems such as SAP and related tools
- Review and verify work performed by payroll processors, providing feedback to maintain high quality and compliance standards (as reflected in senior processor performance responsibilities).
- Support team continuity by acting as a backup to Payroll Lead activities when required
- Reviewing payroll results for accuracy, inputs discrepancies, reasonableness and final resolution of issues encountered.
- The position will require assisting other less experienced team members in performance of tasks and duties of the group.

Education and Experience Requirements:
- Must have legal right to work in New Delhi, India without sponsorship
- Ability to read, write, and speak English at an intermediate proficiency level
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution with a major in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce
- Minimum 6 to 8 years of applicable core payroll work experience
- Exposure to US professional payroll or another Multi Country payroll and compliance environments.
- Ability to work on MS-Excel for various ad-hoc analysis activities
- Strong knowledge of payroll controls, accounting processes, and benefits administration
- Conversant with FIT rules, FICA, T&T 401K and/or payroll tax and social security rules and regulations of at-least 2 countries
- Able to efficiently organize work activities to meet daily and weekly deadlines
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Internal candidates applying must have been in their current position for a minimum of one year.
- Self-starter able to use sound business judgment in carrying out assigned tasks
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Intermediate proficiency in Payroll and General Ledger accounting systems, processes, and controls
- CPA and/or payroll specialist or other similar certifications.
