Job Summary:
In this role, you will conduct field investigations and client interviews to determine work scope and cost estimates for a project’s telecommunications engineering aspects. You will lead design, development, modification, and evaluation of mechanical components and processes. Your recommendations will resolve technical issues and ensure complex requirements are met according to design standards.
Major Responsibilities:
- Evaluates, selects, and applies standard Telecommunications engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria, using independent judgment in making adaptations and modifications
- Participates in the design, development and modification of telecommunications components and processes utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, and Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs)
- Coordinates work and collaborates with other engineering disciplines
- Coordinates Telecommunications engineering efforts in assigned areas with specialty groups, engineering disciplines, the client, vendor, contractors, construction and other functional groups
- Prepares conceptual studies, designs, reports, or proposals
- Provides technical assistance to other Telecommunications personnel and will interact with project functions, the customer, and regulatory agency personnel in the resolution of complex regulatory issues and industry codes and standards
- Provides assistance to project and construction management in identifying and complying with project Telecommunications requirements and in addressing issues as they arise during project execution
Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Proficient in BMS architecture to integrate third party systems via existing vendor protocols including, as a minimum, Lon Talk, BACnet and MODBUS TCP/IP.
- Thorough knowledge in handling of HVAC Systems such as CHILLERS, FAHU, AHU, FCU, DX Type Package Units, Split AC Units, Heat Exchangers, Pumps, Motors, Dosing Systems, Compressors,
- Lifts/Elevators, Exhaust Fans for Buildings in Large Infrastructure Projects.
- Designing of multi service network including networking, server systems, structured cabling, telephone systems, access control and CCTV System, PAS systems.
- Development of graphics with SCADA Software for various process applications development, alarms, real time & historical trends.
- Design experience of Surveillance System including CCTV System, Intrusion Detection System, Access Control System, and integration with Plant SCADA network system.
- Working knowledge of 3D Model Review in S3D and Auto Desk Revit using SPR and Navisworks.
- Design knowledge on LAN/WAN, L2/L3 switches, firewalls, routers and wireless network
