Job Summary:
In this role, you will compile and analyze financial information to prepare General Ledger transactions, statutory financial statements/reports, and tax compliance schedules/reports. You will reconcile general ledger balances and examine recording and reporting documents. You will support in identifying process improvement opportunities and developing new solutions and process documentation. You will scrutinize, initiate, and complete corrective actions to ensure timeliness, accuracy, and compliance.
Reports directly to the General Ledger Supervisor and interfaces with counterparts in other service locations, project offices, and controller management.
Major Responsibilities:
- Review of general ledgers on regular basis
- Thorough knowledge of general ledger accounting including ledger scrutiny. Actively communicates with other departments and follows up on corrective actions.
- Preparation of various report in general ledger on requirement basis.
- Perform the monthly GL close activity.
- Support the Audit and tax team. Prepares and submits required financial reporting adjustments to supervisor and Operations Reporting, as necessary.
- Reviews all general ledger balances for assigned balancing segments and ensures that monthly, supporting schedules are prepared in a timely manner and are reviewed for compliance with established procedures.
- Perform special studies or analyses from time to time as needed and requested by supervisors and managers.
- Perform quarterly and yearly analysis on specific balance sheet accounts for reporting to head office.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or a related field and at 8-10 years of accounting experience.
- CA (Inter) will be an added advantage.
- Basic knowledge of financial reporting, Oracle financials, accounts payable and project financial process controls.
- Basic skills in the areas of oral and written communications, MS Office suite of applications (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Thorough knowledge of Indian Accounting Standards and International Financial Reporting Standards.
- Should possess knowledge of WHT, GST and Corporate Tax.
- Good analytical skills
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Must have audit experience in a large organization, in terms of interaction and co-ordination with the auditors for the finalization of statutory financials.
- Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and applicable accounting methods.
- Must be dependable, punctual, conscientious, and function well in a team environment.
- The ideal candidate will be flexible and adaptable and can maintain a positive and professional attitude and maintain composure under stress.
- The ideal candidate must be 'self-starter' capable of working independently, taking initiative identifying and resolving issues, managing workload, and handling correspondence.
- The ideal candidate must possess good organization skills, ability to provide constant attention to detail, and have ability to apply quality control over a heavy volume work with tight deadlines.
- Candidate is expected to maintain confidentiality of all information entrusted to the position.
