Job Summary:

As an FP&A Business Analyst, you will work with Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) to transform raw data into actionable insights. You will design, develop, and deploy interactive dashboards using Power BI, while supporting data modelling and pipeline development. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams, leverage data analytics to inform decision making, and contribute to optimizing our financial reporting and planning mechanisms.

Major Responsibilities:

Data Visualization and Analysis

  • Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to visualize complex data sets and provide actionable insights for decision-making.
  • Analyze complex data sets to extract meaningful insights, identify trends, patterns, and outliers.
  • Utilize DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) and M (Power Query) for advanced calculations, transformations, and data manipulations within Power BI.

Dashboard Customization and Optimization

  • Customize dashboard layouts, visualizations, and interactivity features to meet business requirements and user preferences.
  • Optimize dashboard performance and data refresh schedules to minimize load times and ensure responsiveness.

Data Modeling and Integration

  • Support development, maintenance, and optimization of data models, including semantic models, to ensure accurate and consistent reporting.
  • Apply SQL and Python to support data preparation, automation, and pipeline development.

Testing, Governance, and Security

  • Conduct thorough testing and validation of Power BI dashboards and underlying data flows to ensure accuracy, reliability, and integrity.
  • Implement data governance policies and security measures to protect sensitive information and ensure compliance.

Continuous Improvement

  • Explore opportunities for process automation, predictive analytics, and advanced technologies such as AI and machine learning.
  • Apply knowledge of cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Databricks) to enhance efficiency and scalability.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Jr. FP&A Business Analyst

  • Bachelor’s degree in quantitative field of study (computer science, statistics, finance, or related discipline).
  • 3 - 5 years of professional experience, preferably in a Power BI Developer role or similar quantitative/IT role.

Sr. FP&A Business Analyst

  • Bachelor’s degree in quantitative field of study (computer science, statistics, finance, or related discipline).
  • 6 - 8 years of professional experience, preferably in a Power BI Developer role or similar quantitative/IT role.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Jr. FP&A Business Analyst

    • Strong understanding of data manipulation and data transformation techniques (DAX, M, SQL).
    • Exposure to Python and cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Databricks) preferred.
    • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data sets and deliver actionable insights.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

    Sr. FP&A Business Analyst

    • Strong understanding of data modeling, semantic model design, and scalable reporting architecture.
    • Proficiency in DAX, M, SQL, and experience with Python and data engineering concepts (pipelines, cloud platforms like Databricks).
    • Ability to apply advanced analytics techniques (forecasting, predictive modeling, machine learning) to derive actionable insights.
    • Strong understanding of financial processes and ability to translate business requirements into data analytics solutions.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
