Unified Communications Administrator

The Bechtel Information Systems and Technology group is seeking a Unified Communications Administrator to provide support for Bechtel’s global Unified Communications infrastructure. This position is located in Glendale, Arizona and will report to the UC Lead within the Global Infrastructure Services organization.


The duties and responsibilities of this position include:

  • Support Bechtel’s global Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) Infrastructure
  • Maintain the Cisco Unified Contact Center Enterprise (CUCC-E) applications and servers
  • Support Cisco Emergency Responder (CER) for North American locations using E911
  • Conduct intermediate-level fault finding and issue resolution while responding to technical issues and requests
  • Work in a globally dispersed team, ensuring assignments are coordinated with various support teams and are completed on-time
  • Document and publish processes and procedures
  • Develop and conduct training for customers and technical peers
  • Maintain assigned workgroup queue
  • Communicate with customers to assess needs and requirements


Basic Qualifications Level 1:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or 7 years of related IT experience in lieu of degree
  • A minimum of one year of experience working with IP Telephony
  • Current CCNA-Collaboration OR the ability to obtain this certification within 12 months of hire
  • Must be a United States citizen


Basic Qualifications Level 2:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or 9 years of related IT experience in lieu of degree
  • A minimum of three years of experience working with IP Telephony
  • Current CCNA-Collaboration
  • Must be a United States citizen


General Qualifications:

  • Able to work varied shifts, overtime, and on-call to support activities as necessary
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, collaboration and customer service skills
  • Knowledge of infrastructure architecture concepts, configurations, and standards


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with CUCM 10.5 or higher and Unity Connection 10.X or higher
  • Basic understanding of Cisco Emergency Responder and E911
  • Knowledge of Cisco Unified Contact Center Enterprise, Finesse Agent Desktop, CTI Object Server, Interactive Voice Response 10.5, and Text to Speech – Nuance Real Speak 4.5
  • Skilled in Server and Network Operations, TCP/IP, Convergence, and other networking technologies
  • Demonstrate project management experience with implementing IT infrastructure projects, ability to coordinate and direct efforts in a distributed team environment
  • Experience with ServiceNow ticket management system preferred
  • Experience with Skype Enterprise Voice would be highly regarded
  • CCNP-Collaboration certification
