SAP Sr. Configurator

The SAP HRMS Configurator (on-premise and cloud) / System Analyst will work within a discipline, plans and conducts independent work requiring judgment in adaptation of information systems techniques, procedures and criteria in areas including application support, software engineering, software quality assurance and quality control.  Devises new approaches to problems encountered to provide solutions to the customer.  Supports discipline in the performance of complex and demanding assignments requiring initiative and independent judgment. Demonstrates a systematic, disciplined and analytical approach to problem solving.


This position will act as a liaison between BBS HR/Payroll and Corporate System Application Support. This position will also be a liason between Bechtel Industrial Relations and SAP enterprise solutions. Requires knowledge of Talent Acquisition, HR, Time Evaluation, Payroll and FI, combined with a understanding of system functionality.  Participates in getting requirements from HR and Payroll functions and helps in resolving issues related to BrassRing (Recruiting), SAP HR and Payroll issues.

Job Duties include:


  • Work directly with user team to ensure systems deliverables meet work process requirements.
  • Analyze and diagnose applications problems, gather requirements, recommend system solutions and enhancements to improve processes and systems and implement solution.
  • Develop eCATT scripts to assist in data conversions and mass data loads for users.
  • Develop functional and echincal specifications in accordance with IS&T standards and procedures.
  • Provide second level operation end user support.
  • Work with training manager to ensure training materials and all documentation are updated with enhancements/changes to the SAP system.
  • Assist in development of test cases and coordinate enhancements/changes through testing.  Actively solicits subject matter expert involvement and participation in testing.
  • Configuration in SAP Payroll Module to support payroll engine (Expatriate Payroll, North America, Middle East, Asia, Australia)
  • Configuration in SAP for 3Rd Party and US Tax Reporter
  • Configuration in Human Resources, Organization Management and Benefits.
  • Configuration in SAP time Module to support US payroll
  • Create OSS messages and liason with SAP in resolving issues
  • Develop reports using SAP Business Objects and Power Business Intelligence (Power BI)
  • Develop queries using Adhoc query tool set in SAP  
  • Execute baseline testing for core HR, Employee Self Service and Manager Self Service  
  • Integration and Unit Testing for HR, Payroll and FI configuration
  • Testing of Reports and Interfaces
  • Able is use SAP ABAP debugger
  • Develop Technical Design document for Business Addins and Enhancement Framework
  • Develop Design document for HR Forms and Workflow
  • Configure BrassRing (Talent Acquisition)
  • Ability to use BrassRing WorkBench to configure, develop and design templates
  • Develop Technology Process Maps for Integration
  • Provide 24x7 operational support to HR and Payroll users as needed


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or Engineering OR 15 years of related work experience (in lieu of degree).
  • Minimum 8 years of SAP configuration experience, version ECC 5.0 or higher which should include implementation planning, gap fit analysis, testing, rollout and post-implementation support

  • Ability to translate Business requirements for system changes into specifications
  • Ability to perform successfully in an environment where meeting the customer’s business needs and creating/maintaining positive customer relationships are as critical as technical competency.  Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills are a must.
  • Ability to use SAP ABAP debugger and understands ABAP and ABAP Object Oriented concetps and fundamentals
  • Provide guidance on requirements for system enhancements.
  • Ability to assume significant responsibility and work independently.
  • Strong Multi-tasking and time-management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and meticulous work style, appreciate data quality.
  • Ability to work well within a team.
