Oracle EBS Analyst/Developer 1

Bechtel is searching for an Oracle Analyst/EBS Developer.  This person will have strong Oracle EBS experience and will design, execute and support software application designs throughout project life cycles within the IT architecture. In addition, this individual will provide Production Support during the US time zone and perform root cause analysis to avoid recurrence. The Oracle EBS Analyst/Developer will work with IT Leads, Business users and other IT team members to understand and evaluate functional requirements, review technology/application alternatives, and develop technical solutions, designs, coding, testing and support eBusiness implementation/upgrades. Developers coming into this position will work on projects, enhancements, and production support.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Development and deployment of integrated solutions to enhance, consolidate, and coordinate independently designed applications enterprise-wide; assist in scheduling and coordinating project deliverables
  • Follow the Team development and work process procedures and standards
  • Determine how existing applications, legacy systems, third-party applications, databases, web/mobile interfaces, and hardware, possibly running on multiple platforms, integrate to meet new and emerging enterprise requirements
  • Develop efficient methods to reuse existing components
  • Program design, coding, benchmark testing, debugging, and documentation under general supervision
  • Setups and configurations as needed for development and support activities; plan, organize and manage time across multiple priorities working independently
  • Help maintain interfaces from third party systems for import/export into the Oracle EBS
  • Applies thorough technical knowledge and understanding of business applications required to facilitate the development of supporting knowledge architecture and standards
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to determine business requirements
  • Assist in component and data architecture design, software, production evaluation, and buy/build recommendations
  • Process and data modeling, architecture development and IT planning methodologies, as well as extensive knowledge of enterprise business and decision-making processes
  • Utilize strong team skills to gain credibility with business users, stakeholders, and must possess the ability to work with other IT team members to ensure solid cross-functional decisions are made by the team
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues, performing root cause analysis, deliver onto ad-hoc requests, documenting and providing the best solution to the problem
  • Provide support in configuration, coding, developing, and documenting software specifications throughout the project life cycle
  • Prepare Oracle Functional, Technical Design documents and Unit test documents for the related areas
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Software Development, Computer Science, or a related field OR 12 years of IT experience in lieu of a degree
  • Two or more years of experience developing applications using PL/SQL and Oracle SQL under Oracle E-business Suite environment
  • Two or more years of development experience in Oracle eBusiness Suite (12x or 11i) in any module
  • Five or more years of programming experience in any computer language
  • Six or more years of Information Technology experience in any IT role


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in OAF and Oracle workflow
  • Experience in BI Publisher
  • Experience in using Oracle eBusiness applications, strong understanding in Oracle Financials and experience in implementation and customization for at least one of the following modules: Accounts Payables, Purchasing, Projects, Fixed Assets, General Ledger, Accounts Receivables, Procurement, Sourcing, iSupplier, or Inventory and Order Management
  • Experience in developing, extending, customizing and retrofitting business requirements using Oracle development tools, PL/SQL, Reports, Forms, XML Publisher, JDeveloper, OAF Customizations, Extensions, Workflows and Unix/Linux
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong development experience using languages line SQL, PL/SQL, JAVA and Unix
  • Good working experience on RICE components like; Oracle Reports (BI Publisher), Workflows, Interfaces (API) and Oracle Forms
  • Good working experience using JDeveloper and should have performed many customizations, extensions and personalization
  • Preferred knowledge/experience with Web services, XML gateway and SOA
  • Demonstrated strong knowledge of concepts and theories in own discipline
  • Perceived internally and externally as technically knowledgeable in the specific modules assigned
  • Demonstrated ability to teach others the technical and functional knowledge and skills needed to achieve results at the optimum level of performance
