Bechtel is seeking a Mobility Counselor to join the Glendale, AZ team.  In the Mobility Counselor role, you will have an opportunity to interface and be the focal point for employees who are relocating to a national or international assignment location.


Job Responsibilities


  • Provide a broad range of HR services related to the end-to-end Bechtel Global Mobility Center (BGMC) functions. Prepares and explains assignment and new hire documentation including employment offer letters, recitals and estimated assignment compensation, in accordance with policies and approved assignment conditions.


  • Coordinates service providers for household effects shipment, Pre-assignment Medical, Passport, Visa/Immigration, and other vendors as applicable. Manages receipt of applicable documents, submittals, and monitoring of processes to gain assignment mobilization clearance. Explains Assignment expense report reimbursement processing and policies.


  • Coordinates assignment travel details and notifications to project or receiving organization for local destination services and arrival arrangements. Interfaces with other teams as appropriate such as; Expatriate Tax, HR Operations, Benefits, Domestic and International payroll, Security, Expense Management, etc.


  • Continuously updates mobility management software throughout the assignment process, for tracking and status updates as required. Assists with Six Sigma and other work process improvement initiatives in the collection of data as required.


Basic Qualifications:


  • Bachelor Level Degree in Human Resources or related field


  • 1 – 3 years Human Resources generalist experience


Additional Qualifications:


  • Global mobility experience


  • Basic knowledge of expatriate compensation components including; tax equalization, goods and services differentials, basic assignment incentives, etc.


  • Working knowledge of international relocation concepts and terminology


  • Prior experience with SAP software


  • Service mindset and outstanding customer service skills


  • Strong communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills


  • Ability to exercise good judgment, make decisions with little or no supervision and be accountable for such actions


  • Ability to be proactive, flexible, and adaptive to changing priorities


  • Ability and skills in the following areas: attention to detail, transaction accuracy and quality, prioritizing and organizing work transactions in a high-volume environment, understanding of integrated HR, payroll, accounting, billing systems and downstream impact of HR transactions.


  • Ability to work overtime on short notice
