Position Summary

Performs varied professional accounting or financial work requiring the standardized application of well-established Corporate Policies and Management Instructions, principles, concepts, and practices. Leads a small team on day-to-day activities and decisions concerning the work processes. Is expected to participate in solution recommendations to complex problems and to propose system changes for approval at higher levels. Assist in developing sound, practical solutions to a wide range of accounting, financial, tax problems apart from the core process areas of knowledge. Requires regular use of resourcefulness and occasional independent judgment.

 

This position is based to the Glendale, AZ, office and requires a minimum of 3 days in the office per week.

 

Responsibilities

  • Provides day-to-day functional guidance, training & coaching for GEM team members in Glendale.
  • Serves as first contact subject matter expert for government business unit expense teams & technical support teams.
  • Collaborate with and provide support to Corporate Travel team on shared objectives. 
  • Level 2 escalation for problem solving & support to internal stakeholders.
  • Lead GEM team through escalations issues to resolution; escalate to supervisor as necessary.
  • POC and intake of Internal Audit and Ethics & Compliance support requests or findings.  Work within approval authority, escalate for final review and resolution to supervisor and/or GEM Manager. 
  • Track and provide reporting on various card rebate programs.
  • Support reporting and tracking of various HR programs, i.e. bonus eligibility, Telework.
  • Maintain adherence to corporate policies and procedures for all corporate credit card and expense processing programs.
  • Lead work processes which support corporate card programs within GEM’s purview.  Liaise with other card program administrators around the globe as necessary. 
  • Support process change initiatives and assist in problem-solving.
  • Build effective relationships with stakeholders and stay updated on industry trends.

 

Qualifications and Skills
Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 2-5 years’ experience focused on business travel & relocation expense processing, account reconciliation, financial operations and customer service, or 6-9 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.
     

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Commerce/Business Management.
  • Experience with expense management tools and ERP financial applications, preferably Concur and Oracle, respectively.
  • Previous Team Leading experience.
  • Analyzing and problem solving techniques as applied to accounting or tax areas.
  • Semi-Qualified Cost/Chartered Accountant.
  • IFRS/GAAP.
  • Good knowledge of reporting tools like Cognos, Business Objects, QlikView.
  • Advanced excel.
  • Six Sigma certification and/or experience with Six Sigma Projects/Lean Concepts.
