Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced EDI Development and Support Specialist to manage, develop, maintain, and support our Global EDI processes using the TIE SmartBridge (TSB)  tool. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in EDI configuration and development, particularly in payment transmissions to banks. This role involves working closely with multifunctional teams and requires a strong understanding of EDI formats, scripting languages, and Agile methodologies.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Develop and customize EDI maps and processes for handling payroll files from SAP and other payroll systems, as well as vendor payment files from Oracle AP (EBS).
  • Implement validation, conversion, and encryption mechanisms for files, ensuring compliance with EDI standards and protocols.
  • Regularly update and maintain EDI mappings and configurations, monitoring the processes to ensure smooth operation.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise with EDI transactions, providing ongoing support for the processes.
  • Collaborate with banking partners to ensure successful transmission of files and work with internal teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of EDI processes.
  • Conduct thorough testing of EDI processes and ensure they meet business requirements and are error-free.
  • Document all EDI processes, including mappings, configurations, and procedures, and provide training to team members and stakeholders.
  • Work with XML and HTTP to facilitate the integration and transmission of EDI files.
  • Utilize Agile methodologies such as Scrum for project management and development processes.
  • Working with Payroll and Finance SMEs on requirements of new and existing payment interfaces to Banking partners.
  • Working with Banking partners support to resolve issues including rejections/failures/reconciliation issues.
  • Working with production support team to assess, resolve and deploy fixes for system defects with Banks.
  • Prepare and execute unit, system, and integration test cases.
  • Resolve Technical issues including Vendor SRs
  • Design and implement functional and technical configuration

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or information systems from an accredited college or university
  • 5+ years of experience in configuration and development of payment transmissions in EDI formats (XML/ANSI X12) to banks.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • 5+ years strong experience in development, mapping and configuration of standard EDI formats  for handling payroll files or Vendor Payments or any other standard EDI format.
  • Proficiency in working with XML and HTTP.
  • Strong experience in the development and maintenance of Visual Basic, Java, and Shell Scripts.
  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of concepts and theories in EDI and related disciplines.
  • Strong knowledge in Banking terms and standards related to EDI.
  • Excellent English communication and interpersonal skills. Experience in end-client facing roles will be strong plus.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in an environment with multiple clients.
  • Flexible to work in Shift.
  • Recognized internally and externally as technically knowledgeable in the specific modules assigned.
  • Team Player, able to provide input into a multifunctional team.
  • Able to communicate about technical issues to non-technical coworkers •
  • Self-motivated, capable of working with limited supervision, pro-actively reporting on status and tasks
  • Adaptable - The role requires a willingness to take on tasks outside of a narrowly defined role, and ideally a desire to be multi-skilled
  • Capable of working to both tactical and judicious timescales
  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of concepts and theories in own discipline.
  • Perceived internally and externally as technically knowledgeable in the specific modules assigned.
  • Experience with Agile Methodologies such as Scrum
  • Please note that work location of this position is open for Bechtel Offices located in Gurgaon and Chennai.

Prefered Skills

  • Experience in Oracle E-Business Suite financial modules 
  • Preferred knowlpreferrperience with Web services, XML gateway and Integration tools knowledge
  • Experience in latest Encryption technologies.
  • Experience in working with Banks and their support teams in resolving EDI issues or new development.
  • PLSQL, SQL, Oracle Database experience
