Project Overview:

Bechtel and Westinghouse Electric Company have partnered to deliver the first AP1000 nuclear power reactors in Poland for our customer, the Polish Entity Polskie Elektrownie Jadrowe (PEJ). Bechtel will be the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor for the project. As the EPC, our responsibilities will include providing the design for the Turbine Island and Balance of Plant as well as the construction of the entire facility.  This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity, and we are looking for the talent that will help expand Poland’s nuclear base and build a strong and long-lasting energy future for generations to come. This position is subject to U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) regulations at 10 CFR Part 810 (Part 810), which govern the transfer of hardware, materials, and technology to support the construction and operation of commercial nuclear power plants overseas.

Job Summary:

Bechtel’s Poland AP1000 Team is currently seeking a Developer with a creative and intuitive approach to process automation to join the POLAND AP1000 IS&T team. The position is to assist in the architecture of all POLAND AP1000 inter and intra-discipline electronic workflows and form development. Key roles include supporting design and implementation of an all-digital operational environment across a legacy application portfolio, modernizing toolsets and workflows to reduce reliance on manual processes.

  • Position has system administrator roles in our BPLogix Process Director, Power Platform, other process automation tools, and information interface systems.
  • The position involves oversight of sensitive unclassified information systems. While not requiring clearance for classified materials, the position demands a strong understanding of U.S., EU, and Polish information classification systems to ensure compliant policy design and implementation.
  • Bechtel has offices and reachback support worldwide, so collaborating with people not in your timezone will be expected.
  • Infrequent travel to other project offices in Poland is required.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Build an in-depth understanding of (EPC&S) Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Startup work processes to develop automation around.
  • Development of work processes into electronic workflows, eforms, or applications.
  • Train power users in workflow and form development to facilitate a culture of process improvement seekers.
  • Respond to requests for help/assistance in the platforms listed above.
  • Collaborate with process owners to identify and understand bottlenecks/inefficiencies in processes so you can develop improved systems.
  • Oversee the protection of Bechtel intellectual Property and that of business partners that’s stored in the applications developed.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires bachelor's degree (or internal equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience
  • Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check including verification of employment, education, and travel.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Power Platform experience (Power Apps, Power Automate)
  • Web development experience (React, Typescript)
  • Dotnet experience
  • Ability/willingness to learn new technologies/programming languages
  • Detail Oriented
  • Self-motivated without the need for constant supervision

 

Desired Experience:

  • In addition to the core competencies, the successful candidate will ideally have experience identifying, evaluating, and protecting sensitive information or cybersecurity interests across the following frameworks and areas:
  • SQL/Database design (SQL Server, Oracle)
  • System Administration best practices
  • Strong understanding of AI and how to apply it to problems
