Project Overview:

Bechtel and Westinghouse Electric Company have partnered to deliver the first AP1000 nuclear power reactors in Poland for our customer, the Polish Entity Polskie Elektrownie Jadrowe (PEJ). Bechtel will be the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor for the project. As the EPC, our responsibilities will include providing the design for the Turbine Island and Balance of Plant as well as the construction of the entire facility.  This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity, and we are looking for the talent that will help expand Poland’s nuclear base and build a strong and long-lasting energy future for generations to come. This position is subject to U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) regulations at 10 CFR Part 810 (Part 810), which govern the transfer of hardware, materials, and technology to support the construction and operation of commercial nuclear power plants overseas.

Job Summary:

Performs planning and scheduling development, maintenance, and monitoring activities for assigned construction disciplines, work areas, or subcontract scopes. Supports coordination of construction work sequences and interfaces to ensure alignment with the overall project execution plan. Independently executes assigned planning responsibilities and leads planning and scheduling activities when delegated.

 

The position will initially be based at the project site and the Gdańsk project office.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Identifies scope of schedule activities and develops detailed work activities for assigned discipline areas, specialties, or subcontract scopes.
  • Determines activity durations, logic, and milestones supporting overall project schedule objectives.
  • Coordinates work sequences with project personnel and field supervision to ensure alignment with construction execution plans.
  • Identifies inter-discipline interfaces and constraints affecting assigned scope and supports resolution with project teams.
  • Works with discipline engineers, construction supervision, and contractors to obtain required planning inputs and maintain schedule accuracy.
  • Provides planning and scheduling guidance to assigned discipline or subcontract scope.
  • Performs schedule monitoring activities, including identification of critical and near-critical work and reporting potential impacts.
  • Supports schedule updates, progress verification, and analysis for assigned scope.
  • Assists in identifying schedule risks and opportunities and supports development of mitigation actions.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (or international equivalent) and at least 2+ years of relevant planning and scheduling experience or, in lieu of a degree, a high school diploma and at least 6+ years of relevant professional work experience.
  • Prior experience supporting construction execution or field planning activities preferred.
  • Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check including verification of employment, education, and travel.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Skilled in oral and written communication and coordination across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Working knowledge of engineering, procurement, and construction work processes.
  • Ability to analyze schedule data and identify potential impacts to planned work activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently within assigned responsibilities.
  • Flexibility to respond to changing project priorities and field conditions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with personnel of varied backgrounds and objectives.
