Project Overview:
The rapid growth of AI and digitalization is fueling unprecedented demand for data centers that require large, reliable sources of energy. In response to this market trend, the Renewables & Clean Power (R&CP) team have signed an early works contract to build one of the largest gas fired power generation facilities in the U.S. Our team is helping the customer progress early-stage development, that would lead to the start of full EPC delivery next year. The candidate will act as Field Superintendent- Scaffold on the CCGT Project in Pecos, Texas. The candidate will locate on a long-term assignment to the project in Pecos, TX. This position is contingent upon project award.
Job Summary:
The Scaffold Field Superintendent provides onsite leadership for construction activities primarily focused on the project’s Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSG), ensuring all work is executed safely, meets and aligns with project schedule and budget objectives. This role directs craft labor and subcontractors, oversees daily field operations, and cost/schedule performance. The Field Superintendent supports in the resolution of constructability issues, supports the development of work scopes, and project procedures. The position plays a central role in maintaining quality, enforcing use of current design documents, and ensuring that tools, materials, and equipment are available to support efficient execution. #LI-SP1
Major Responsibilities:
Leadership/Supervision (Discipline Supervision up to 25 craft)
- Supervises and/or directs craft activities as assigned.
- Schedules work to be performed and reviews work accomplished by each craft.
- Performs general functions inherent in all supervisory field positions.
Planning/Productivity
- Determines workforce requirements.
- Coordinates established area operational plans.
- Coordinates activities with other disciplines or areas and clients’ resident representatives, as instructed by construction management.
Safety/Quality
- Ensures the most current design document is used to complete the work and that all design changes are approved prior to implementation.
- Ensures assigned construction operations and subcontractors’ performance are in compliance with specifications and within schedules and budgets.
- Ensures the implementation of corporate/project policies, procedures, and instructions within assigned operations.
Technical
- Works with Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents
- Coordinates engineering solutions with Subcontractors, and Foremen and Craft Professionals.
- Coordinates with Design on constructability issues.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9 -12 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Must have experience managing industrial system scaffolding crews in daily dismantle, modify, and erection
- Demonstrate knowledge of OSHA requirements for Scaffolding works
- Must be familiar with multiple types of scaffolding builds (hanging, from ground, tanks, sump wall)
- Must be familiar with Ringlock component capacities in multiple configurations for erected scaffolding and tagging processes
- Experience in a field construction environment working with specifications, vendor procedures, instructions, & codes.
- Heavy industrial direct hire construction experience commensurate with the type of work to be undertaken.
- Experience managing technical services subcontracts.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate and lead team members effectively & positively in a collaborative team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to problem-solve in high pressure situations.
- Experience in oil, gas, refinery, petrochemical, minerals processing or power generating station construction.
- Good knowledge in MS Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and other common applications used on the construction industry.
- Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards.
- Experience on an LNG construction site especially along the U.S. Gulf Coast.
- Understanding of applicable Bechtel work processes including Standard Work Process Procedures.
- Advanced knowledge of Project Bechtel Standard Applications (BSAPs) including Setroute, Unifier, Aconex, DSCS, PTR, Agile, Navisworks, and other automation tools which are used on Bechtel projects.
