Job Summary:
In this role, you will perform routine cost estimating, analysis, and control activities and the implementation of cost monitoring and control standards, preparation of cost data, and the project trend program. You will establish stakeholder relationships, conduct schedule analysis and integrate activities, identify restraints, quantify risks, monitor cost and performance, recommend alternatives. You will assist with budget allocation and developing quantity takeoffs, project codes, and application unit rates.
Major Responsibilities:
- Developing and maintaining project budgets, forecasts, and cost control systems. Coordinating with all departments to ensure understanding of total project schedule needs.
- Coordinating cost engineering/planning and scheduling needs to projects, verifying quantities and JH received from Subcontractors, validated by Construction and Field Engineering.
- Identifying schedule considerations and problems resulting from inter-discipline or functional restraints and interfaces.
- Monitoring and reporting critical path and schedule performance of the total project.
- Coordinating cost recording, monitoring, & reporting practices for compliance with applicable standards.
- Preparing specific budgets in accordance with prescribed standards and procedures and preparing weekly report of HH Spent and Earned. Coordinating the development and accuracy of cost reports.
- Performing cost variance analysis. Performing routine cost estimating, analysis, and control activities, as directed.
- Supporting the implementation of cost monitoring and control standards, techniques, systems, and reports.
- Performing budget allocation and reporting/cost control for specific construction discipline or group of disciplines.
- Supporting the preparation of cost data for contracts. Coordinating the development and accuracy of cost reports.
- Verifying consistency with previous reports to ensure compatibility and consistency.
- Preparing cost studies using historical data, statistical analysis, and cost and quantity comparisons.
- Development of quantity takeoffs for a specific discipline or specialty. Supporting the project trend program.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge of Ecosys software, to maintain reportability of quantities on Bechtel platforms.
- Knowledge and experience in QURR reporting, to control amounts and hours spent and earned.
- Experience in Analysis of PF and Rates of the constructive progress of the project.
- Ability to work in conjunction with planning to maintain the percentage of progress as planned.
- Knowledge in the management of the information coming from the CAPEX, must be able to read, understand and manipulate the CAPEX in its completeness.
- Knowledge in the process of trends of a construction project.
- Demonstrated experience in executing, monitoring, and evaluating cost engineering activities, including cost estimation, cost control, and cost analysis.
- Expertise in engineering and construction management is obtained through targeted education or extensive practical experience.
- Analytical thinking and data interpretation.
- Attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Experience in Mining & Metals or large infrastructure projects (Preferred).
