Job Summary:

In this role, you will use 2-D/3-D computer-aided design (CAD) to develop designs for electrical engineering such as earthwork, drainage, road design, and foundation. You will help construct detailed scale models, develop work plans, and review drawings for quality, accuracy, and completion. Your collaboration across disciplines will coordinate compliance and quality in the overall project design

Major Responsibilities:

• Develops designs for Electrical engineering systems such as earthwork, drainage, road design, foundation, and steel detailing with minimum supervision from which detailed scale models and/or construction drawings are completed
• Assists in constructing detailed scale models
• Ensures compliance with approved Electrical design standard, applicable installation codes, and regulations in own work and by those assigned, to provide quality design
• Reviews and checks calculations, design models, drawings and design documents prepared by assigned designers/drafters for quality, accuracy, neatness, functionality and satisfactory completion
• Participates in constructability reviews
• Coordinates the reviews for the accuracy of bulk material quantity take-offs and material requisitions for materials applicable to the discipline
• Works with designers in other disciplines to coordinate overall design and technical requirements
• Assists in the development of work plans, budgets, and schedules for basic Electrical designer tasks based on input and direction from supervisor in designated discipline
• Provides on-the-job training for personnel within Electrical design
• Generates 2D drawings or 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD) design models with minimal guidance from others

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Min. 3 Years of experience, specialized courses in drafting, design and engineering practices, and CAD, or a recognized diploma/ITI Certificate.
• Site experience will be an added advantage

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Technical knowledge of engineering systems, engineering calculations, applications of engineering methods and construction methods and materials, and application of computer aided engineering (CAE)/computer aided design (CAD) tools to engineering problems.
• Experience of preparing technical specifications, datasheets, material requisitions and vendor print reviews for various electrical equipment. 
• Knowledge of preparation of load list, MCC schedule etc.
• Experience in various electrical layouts like grounding, raceways and lighting etc.
• Review of 3D Model using SPR or Navisworks and be a stakeholder in 30%, 50% and 90% Model.
• Reviews with Client, Vendor and Subcontractors. 
• Knowledge of project controls within discipline.
• Good knowledge of major industry or regulatory standards and design criteria pertinent to the engineering discipline.
• Basic skill in oral and written communication
