Bechtel is providing a wide variety project and contract management services, crossing all disciplines, to customers in Western Australia to support exciting capital works programmes, including in aviation, defence and energy infrastructure. We are looking for people to join us in a long-term relationship to deliver these services in and around Perth where we are working within integrated teams with our customers and to help build Bechtel’s capabilities for even greater opportunities in the future.
Job Summary:
As a member of the Projects team, your role is to supervise the delivery of the project. This involves ensuring that the project is completed in alignment with its defined scope, meets quality expectations, adheres to the timeline, and stays within budget. Additionally, the delivery must comply with the business’s objectives for safety, security, and environmental standards.
Major Responsibilities:
- Participate in reviewing plans, procedures, and records.
- Attend regular construction and quality-related meetings for the assigned sub-area.
- Coordinate targeted assessments to enable timely mitigation of technical and project risks.
- Apply quality engineering principles to design reviews, analyses, quality program plans, and other documentation.
- Assist in monitoring and reporting quality program metrics and analysis as leading quality indicators.
- Monitor contractor’s quality performance using assurance tools such as surveillances and audits.
- Use a collaborative approach to resolve findings from audits and surveillances.
- Participate in the closed-loop corrective action process.
- Lead Auditor under AS/NZS ISO 19011:2014 – Guidelines for auditing management systems.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience
- 5 years in quality assurance or quality control within civil, electrical or mechanical discipline
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Direct experience on airport or aviation-related projects is desirable
- Familiarity with airside construction protocols, CASA regulations, and ICAO standards
- Proven ability to manage inspection test plans (ITPs), nonconformance reports (NCRs), and quality audits
- Experience with materials compliance, welding inspections, and as-built documentation
- Strong understanding of quality management systems (QMS) and construction codes
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contractual requirements
- Proficiency in QA/QC documentation, traceability, and handover packages
