Project Overview:

Bechtel is providing a wide variety project and contract management services, crossing all disciplines, to customers in Western Australia to support exciting capital works programmes, including in aviation, defence and energy infrastructure. We are looking for people to join us in a long-term relationship to deliver these services in and around Perth where we are working within integrated teams with our customers and to help build Bechtel’s capabilities for even greater opportunities in the future. 

Job Summary:

Working across multiple concurrent projects, the Coordinator provides specialist advice, resolves complex access and logistics issues, and ensures compliance with regulatory, safety and airport standards. The role engages widely with internal stakeholders, contractors and external authorities to maintain safe, efficient and coordinated traffic and logistics operations throughout the program.

Major Responsibilities:

Planning / Productivity
• Ensure that the work by contractors is undertaken in a manner that addresses and eliminates personnel and environmental hazards, and ensure that risk analysis, health risk assessments, and work method statements, where required, are in place. 
• Coordinate site access logistics for assigned area, ensuring that all personnel and equipment can enter and exit site efficiently.
• Address and resolve any site access issues that may arise during the project.
• Coordinate with contractors in the preparation of timely and compliant site transport plans. 
• Monitor compliance of heavy haul operations with approved plans and applicable codes. 
• Coordinate the execution of heavy haul operations and abnormal site transport movements on the project coordinating schedules with Project Controls. 
• Assess and plans heavy transport requirements and assists in the preparation of the construction equipment schedule (CES) and construction environment management plans.

Safety & Quality
• Monitor that project teams are implementing and enforcing policies, procedures and related work rules as established by project management. 
• Actively monitor contractor compliance with safety requirements and encourage contractors to perform in a safe manner. 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  •  Required bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Demonstrated technical knowledge of related construction systems, applications of engineering and construction methods and materials for major infrastructure or aviation projects. 
  • Knowledge of related construction practices and the economics involved and current knowledge of new methods of design and construction.
  • High level of interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrable delivery of leadership and behavioural change within a large organisation and with outside organizations.
  • Ability to influence and engage in a collaborative working environment with internal and external stakeholders while maintaining necessary levels of commercial awareness.
  • Prior delivery partner or client-side project management experience is preferred but not essential.
