We are currently recruiting for long term career professionals, with an initial assignment supporting an aviation project in Ireland. Bechtel will be working in an integrated team with our client to support the delivery of a Capital Investment Plan of circa €2bn within an operating airport environment.

Role Overview 

The Governance Coordinator will coordinate the governance activities across the suite of capex projects. The Governance Coordinator will play a key role in implementing the governance standards for the consistent monitoring, control, reporting, and assuring the activities within the Programmes. 

 

Main Responsibilities 

  • Maintain the governance processes and supporting documentation / tools.

  • Set the standards for Governance in alignment with the client's Governance Policy. 

  • Responsible for communicating the status of deliverables to stakeholders.

  • Contribute to the forward planning of programme and project decisions, the level of approval required, and the tracking of progress towards these.

  • Organize, attend, and participate in stakeholder meetings.  

  • Implement quality assurance on all governance outputs and papers.  

  • Responsible for maintaining the ‘single source of truth’ for governance documentation.

  • Drive best practice in governance process across the Infrastructure Department’s Portfolio. 

 

Basic & Preferred Experience 

  • Knowledge of governance best practice, relevant issues, and new upcoming trends in the industry.

  • Experienced at implementing ‘best-in class’ governance and reporting across large infrastructure projects.

  • Demonstrable experience in contributing to the delivery of projects or programmes. 

  • Good knowledge of and experience in Programme Support functions (Schedule, risk, cost, change, information management). 

 

Skills 

  • Strong data management skills.

  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to determine expectations and manage their influence.

  • Excellent communicator.

  • Adaptable.

  • Problem solver.

  • Fully competent in the use of MS Office applications.

  • Proven attention to detail and extremely well organised.  

  • Effective stakeholder management and ability to work well with others at all levels. 

  • Ability to work on tight deadlines. 

 

Qualifications 

Essential

  • Degree in a relevant discipline, ideally either management or technical. 

Preferred

  • Professional qualification in Project and Programme management, such as MAPM, Prince2 or equivalent would be beneficial.
