Role Overview:

The Electrical Supervision is responsible for supervising and directing operations within the applicable electrical discipline. Supervises and directs superintendents, craft supervisors and others, as assigned. Ensures assigned construction operations and contractor's performance are in compliance with specifications and within schedules and budgets.

Primarily reports to Construction Manager in Mansourah Massarah Gold Project (MMPG) for scheduled work priorities, coordination between other disciplines and assigned building-specific tasks, for coordination of technical and site-specific prioritization of work activities and craft crew distribution.

 

Responsibilities:

•            Provides senior leadership for environmental, safety, health, injury/accident, and fire prevention on the project.

•            This includes safety orientation, preparation of safety procedures and leading direct hire safety meetings.

•            Inspect buildings and areas for unsafe conditions, behaviors and practices and take appropriate corrective action to mitigate and eliminate.

•            Coordinate safety training and enforce safe work behaviors and practices at all times in conjunction with the Environmental Safety and Health Supervisor.

•            Be the Champion for the ZERO Accident Program.

•            Ensure that Bechtel Core processes and local/national safety codes, requirements and standards are being complied with within the assigned area of responsibility.

•            Ensure the applicable design document for electrical commodities such as concrete, steel, architectural and excavation is provided to direct hire craft personnel to complete work, and that all design changes are approved prior to implementation.

•            Responsible for the cost, schedule and optimization of craft labor and maintaining the four-week look-ahead schedule for labor and equipment.

•            Interface with Labor/Industrial Relations for craft recruitment and training programs.

•            Approve workforce job requirements and review work accomplished by each craft.

•            Review craft time records using established automated tools.

•            Review and approve major equipment mobilization and demobilization.

•            Responsible for implementing corporate project policies, procedures and instructions within assigned electrical work activities or applicable project-specific policies and procedures.

•            Coordinate with General Foreman and Foreman to hire electrical craft labor to execute work.

•            Coordinate with other discipline superintendents with established building or area construction work activities and plans.

•            Lead the preparation and implementation of the 3-week look-ahead and four-week rolling schedule and budget control with support from Field Engineering and Project Controls.

•            Provide input to Field Engineering for quantity tracking application and report weekly installed quantities.

•            Prepare material requisitions for tools and consumables and coordinate through Procurement to obtain these materials.

•            Prepare reports and forecasts, including a summary of construction progress, craft personnel forecasts, and expenditures forecasts.

•            Plan the manpower and equipment required to execute the job.

•            Perform employee reviews and identify training and development opportunities for subordinate personnel.

•            Perform other duties as required by Bechtel management.  

 

Basic Qualifications:

•            Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other relevant technical disciplines from an accredited university as well as a minimum of 9 years of relevant work experience, or 15 years of relevant experience in the absence of a degree.

•            Must be physically able to conduct field inspections and participate in project walk-downs which may require the following activities: extensive walking in and around a construction site, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, using fall protection and other personal protective equipment (PPE), walking on elevated platforms, walking on uneven surfaces, and maneuvering around very small and/or confined spaces.

•            Intermediate to advanced knowledge of supervisory functions relating to construction field activities.

•            Demonstrated commitment to Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H) and commitment to a Zero Accident safety program.

•            Intermediate to advanced experience in construction management of mining

facility EPC projects.
