Project Overview:
Job Summary:
In this role, you will coordinate the development, organization, and implementation of the training plan for a project’s Environmental, Safety, and Health (ES&H) program. You will collaborate to develop orientation, courses, strategies, leadership programs, and other methods for content delivery. Your work will ensure effective ES&H communication and training that will improve worker safety on the job.
Major Responsibilities:
- Assists in the integration of Safety requirements into the planning, permitting, and construction of Bechtel projects.
- Provides technical assistance to other safety services.
- Develop and deliver New employee orientation training
- Develop and deliver ES&H technical and behavior-based training
- Maintain records and KPIs on training efforts and adapts based on project trends
- Provides technical support to safety studies and assessments and other applicable safety and health reviews.
- Participates in meetings, as required, with customers, project team members, and contractors/subcontractors to advise them of safety and health requirements.
- Conduct safety inspections of project construction activities to monitor compliance with safety requirements including contractual commitments, permits, the project’s ES&H plan, and other applicable safety plans.
- Knowledge of safety and health laws and regulations and applicable agencies’ permitting processes and responsibilities. Familiar with KSA legal requirements related to workplace safety is preferred.
- Skilled in oral and written communication and knowledge of computer applications with proficiency in Behavior Based Safety and Craft based leadership philosophies.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Basic Qualifications
A degree in the field of Safety and Health preferred or a minimum of 7 years experience.
Additional Qualifications:
• Must have good communication skills and proficient with computer software.
• Must deliver initial (onboarding) and ongoing training to enable company personnel to comply with the requirements of the company EHS policy.
Preferred Qualifications:
• A recognized certification preferred.
• Bilingual preferred. (English / Arabic)
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule if required, including, but not limited to nightshift or split shift
- This position has a work scope that includes spending up to 50% of time conducting field inspections and requires the physical ability to conduct field inspections which require the following activities:
- extensive walking in and around a construction site often in high heat and high humidity conditions, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces, and working in small or confined spaces.
- Some lifting up to 25 lbs may be required.
- Must have the ability to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress).
- Must be able to use appropriate standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task.
