Project Overview:

The Project includes the design, procurement, installation, and commissioning of 3 new bucket-wheel reclaimers including associated structural, mechanical, electrical and communications services.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will develop, administer and possess responsibility for project construction quality control program activities. You will perform inspections, monitor subcontractor activity, and administer training and surveillance. You will lead cross-functional activities to ensure that construction operations follow contract, government standards, project specifications, and established quality control criteria. 

Major Responsibilities:

• Reviews welding procedure
• Reviews welding documentation and records.
• Verify the use of qualified welders and correct application of qualified welding procedure specifications.
• Review and check physical material identification & traceability against the available MTC/MTR.
• Quality assurance oversight of contractor NDT activities including visual inspection, ultrasonic testing and magnetic particle testing.
• Reviews surface treatment procedures and processes.
• Conducts inspection on the surface treatment process (blasting, coating and galvanising).
• Performs inspection functions in accordance with the inspection plan, monitors inspection duties assigned to subcontractors and reviews results of inspections.
• Support continuous improvement of contractor fabrication and surface treatment processes.
• Develop and maintain strong and good contractor working relationships.
  

Education and Experience Requirements:

• CWI/CSWIP qualified, familiar with Australian Standard AS1554, AS1796, AS2214, AS4100, AS5131 and 10 years of relevant experience
• NDT ISO9712 qualified, level 2/3, Magnetic Particle (MPI) and Ultrasonic (UT) A, B & C. Familiar with AS1171 & AS2207.
• NACE Level 2 (Coatings Inspector) and 10 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with Australian Standards and PPG painting systems is an advantage.
• Experience with polyurethane and ceramic coating systems is an advantage.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Chinese speaking mandatory. Able to read and write English. English speaking would be an advantage but not mandatory.
• Good communication skills.
