Project Overview:

Bechtel is seeking to expand its decades long relationship with Reliance by providing Project Management Consultant (PMC) Services and Engineering Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM) Services for offsites and utilities (OSBL) for a multi-billion-dollar upgrade / expansion of existing petrochemical facilities in India. Reliance plans to augment its existing petrochemical facilities in Dahej, Gujarat, and Nagothane, Maharashtra, to expand its PVC capacity. The PMC Services will be led out of India with personnel deployed in Mumbai region, the project sites in India, as well as several key contractor locations across India. The EPCM Services for OSBL will be led out of Bechtel’s India offices. The positions on the project will start as assignment in Navi Mumbai, Dahej or Nagothane.  

Job Summary:

In this role, you will be responsible for material management activities for a project or jobsite. You will ensure conformance to corporate policies including the receipt, inspection, storage, inventory control, physical security, and issue of materials and equipment. You will monitor employee utilization, work hours, and staffing. Your efforts will help ensure accurate, efficient, and timely material management.  

Major Responsibilities:

  • Identifies the need and completing the action for all UOS&D material and equipment received at jobsite locations. 
  • Initiates actions to identify and dispose of material and equipment declared excess to project needs by project management. 
  • Supervises a team of inventory control personnel on a project.
  • Monitors project work and the allocation of resources to complete the work. 
  • Indoctrinates newly assigned inventory control personnel to the requirements and procedures of the project, and Customer.
  • Monitors personnel to ensure they receive appropriate training and development to satisfy job performance criteria and company personnel development objectives. 
  • Assists the Inventory Control Manager in establishing long-range personnel objectives and in developing personnel to fill inventory control requirements. 
  • Implements Inventory Control Plan with respect to applicable commodity groups within area of responsibility. 
  • Utilizes the materials components of the project Automation tools to monitor related data transfers between the functional groups. 
  • Implements planned inventory control mechanisms, such as min-max and bag-and-tag, and uses Digital Supply Chain System (DSCS)tools to ensure construction material requirements are met. 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Must have previous warehouse supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of materials management automated systems, interfaces between systems, and how data is shared and managed. 
  • Good organizational skills. 
  • Knowledge of the full scope of inventory control responsibilities on a construction project, including personnel required to execute known workload. 
  • Demonstrated leadership skills. 
  • Broad understanding of standard field procurement procedures, including knowing the requirements set forth in the IWPP. 
  • Advanced knowledge of Field Procurement operations related to the receipt, storage and control of materials on a project. 
  • Good knowledge of Inventory control and material management automation tools used for day to day activities related to receipt, storage, and issue of materials. 
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. 
  • Basic experience, skill, and/or training in supervising workload distribution and execution of the work, as well as on the job training of employees. 
  • Basic skill in working with and communicating effectively with supervisors of other project functional groups, primarily Engineering, Construction, and Project Management.
