Job Summary:

In this role, you will use 2-D/3-D computer-aided design (CAD) to develop designs for control systems engineering such as earthwork, drainage, road design, and foundation. You will help construct detailed scale models, develop work plans, and review drawings for quality, accuracy, and completion. Your collaboration across disciplines will coordinate compliance and quality in the overall project design. 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the development of designs for Control Systems engineering systems such as earthwork, drainage, road design, foundation, and steel detailing with minimum supervision from which detailed scale models and/or construction drawings are completed​ 
  • Assists in constructing detailed scale models​ 
  • Ensures compliance with approved Control Systems design standards in own work and by those assigned, to provide quality design​ 
  • Coordinates the reviews for the accuracy of bulk material quantity take-offs and material requisitions for materials applicable to the discipline​ 
  • Assists in the development of work plans, budgets, and schedules for basic Control Systems designer tasks based on input and direction from supervisor in designated discipline​ 
  • Provides on-the-job training for personnel within Control Systems design​ 
  • Generates 2D drawings or 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD) design models with minimal guidance from others​ 
  • Ensures Controls Systems designs comply with all applicable installation codes, regulations, and standards 
     

Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires a University Hire with less than 1 year of experience or 4-5 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Hands-on experience on S3D model, Microstation and Auto CAD – ability to perform modelling in S3D , prepare drawings in AutoCAD and latest version of Microstation
  • Basic knowledge of physical design, S3D model work process, coordination with PD&P, CSA and Electrical disciplines, extraction of smart sketches from S3D model, working on deliverables like JB schedule and cable schedule in Microstation
