Assistant Project Engineer - Architecture

Role Overview:

  • Assist the Resident Engineering Manager (REM) and the Project Engineering management team in the supervision of the engineering activities for the engineering discipline(s) as necessary on the project.  Under the direction of the REM, assists in the planning and directing of engineering assignments for the project(s).  Has responsibilities for interfacing with other execution centers (if utilized), interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating the assignments/tasks associated with the project.
  • Works directly with our customer(s) and our senior management on matters relating to project engineering progress, quality, scope and technical/permitting issues.
  • Directs the establishment of work process integration and systems implementation for the programmatic design process.
  • Establishes and maintains access to technical experts in the advanced technologies pertinent to the project, and sets up channels of communication to bring this expertise to bear effectively on the engineering effort.
  • Champions the creation of a work environment, which fosters openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction on the project.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Interfacing with the customer engineering lead to establish requirements, communicate progress, understand and resolve customer concerns.
  • Assist with managing the engineering team to meet quality and schedule requirements for the production of the engineering deliverables.
  • Providing technical oversight for the development of engineering deliverables for the project.
  • Reviewing and approving key engineering deliverables for the project including CAD models, drawings, specifications and supporting calculations.
  • Reporting progress and status of the development of key engineering deliverables.
  • Assists in managing work related to the Architectural discipline in a semiconductor manufacturing facility.
  • Coordinates and interfaces as directed with the day-to-day technical work of discipline engineers and field supervision.
  • Fostering openness, trust, communication, teamwork, innovation and empowerment among project team members.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Recognized degree in Architecture from an accredited institution and 10 years of Engineering experience.
  • Professional license or registration in an engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years prior experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams in work process development.
  • Experienced in BIM design and federated modeling requirements/processes.
  • Experienced in the design of supporting systems, equipment layout and optimization for modular design considerations.
  • Knowledge of codes and standards applicable to building design.
  • Architectural Knowledge related to semiconductor manufacturing facility, buildings a plus.
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge on semiconductor manufacturing design process.
  • Previous Bechtel experience.
